  • I don't really understand how a gym really helps you lose weight.

    My Bio teacher says that if you are losing weight via exercise you are doing two things 1 killing fat which loses weight 2. building muscle which probably gains more weight than lost. Essentially if you started out fat and you worked out you'll probably end up looking like Nappa from DBZ you know Nappa the "Vegeta What does the scouter say about his power level" guy

  • hello im trying to burn fat and get muscle i want the physique but i need help on work out plans , i know cardio can burn up alot of your protein this is why body builders try to avoid cardio but at the same time its a faster way to burn fat but right diet and correct work out plan i know i can burn more fat and keep it off longer then someone who starves them selves and does cardio but i need ur advice in diet wise i need to get bigger the more muscle i build more fat i burn so what

  • I am 110 Kg (245 pounds) and height is 6 feet (183 cm) and I want to be 85 KG so want to loose 25 Kg (55 pounds) in 6 months my girlfriend is coming back to Canada by July 15. So, I have like 6 months and I am thinking to joing our YMCA gym. But this will be my first time to a gym and dunno what to do.

  • I am gaining size in the muscle, some definition, not bad id say, but still got the love handles and trucker tummy etc etc, still got weight to take off. For the most part i was doing 45 mins cardio 5 days a week, and working 1-2 muscle groups a day, with 4 sets of reps like 12, 10, 8, and the 4th to failure, increasing weight as i go. But i think its time for a change of pace? last 4 weeks ive been low rep heavy lift, and it is ...NOT ...working

  • How many times a week should a guy try this to burn fat? I started at 269 pounds.. september 2009, and have been struggling these past 4 weeks. Right now i am currently 224 pounds.. a trainer at the gym i go to said try Circut weight training.. as lately im lifting heavy for low rep, and doing 45 mins cardio 5 days a week. very stubborn...do it myself type, but i think i finallly have to admit i need help, lol

    If you're happy with your conditioning I would keep your cardio at 2-3x max per week at 20-25 min max (no more than 60% max hr. This should help you stay lean and spare muscle tissue. Train heavy keeping your reps between 8-10 reps focusing on the negative portion of the movement for best growth!
