  • Two things: 1. This is country jazz mixed with pop. 2. It's true when a girl shits on you, they don't realize that this ain't the first time I've ever spent the fucking night alone before. One thing girls have to understand is that like fish in the sea, they don't have the only pussy on land.

  • lots of tragedy indeed .....but it was no coincidence my friends. for the truth of the matter at hand and lesson to be learned is that ''KARMA IS A BITCH'' !!!!

  • Its too bad the group (now days) is just a bunch of guys playin MTB tunes. THE MTB was the greatest in 70's

  • shelbykenny only the lead singer is all that is left from all the tucker boys who's original.... and he can't sing em like he used to. Glad I saw them in the early 90's for a few more original members.

  • @lookherechump im not great with my MTB info but i thought Toy & his brother Tommy were gone...they were the lead singers, wern't they? I never did see them live but listened to the vinyl alot!

  • @shelbykenny Tommy Died in car accident in1980. Toy died in 1993 heart attack.

  • @TOPOFFMAN They also had a brother Tim who was killed in a car wreck 3 months before Tommy was killed. Tim had a full time job taking care of and training Toy's prize Arabian horses.

  • @cooltooth112 Wow. I never had heard about that one. There was so much tragedy with the southern rock bands.

  • @shelbykenny Doug Gray was the lead vocalist on most songs even the songs that Toy wrote which was most of them. Toy only sang a few of his songs. Doug also sang "Fire On The Mountain" which was written by George McCorkle. I've noticed that Toy usually satyed away from singing background and just played his guitar or pedal steel. Tommy almost always sang backup. He wrote a couple songs but I don't know if he sang them.

  • soooo, I'm not the only one that noticed the lyric variation at 1:57... ;)

  • dreamgenie58 mostlikely being a LIVE show that all bands play and sing a song however it is done. Not all songs are just like the album you heard it on. That is what makes this a great song...heard the way they want to play it ! Their way.

  • @lookherechump ... Back when this album came out, I dang near played the grooves off it! lol Still have it.. Personally,, I love this version~

  • @dreamgenie58

Yep that is definitely not the same lyrics!!! Hilarious!

  • @Ferrum82.. Hilarious,, isn't quite how I'd describe it..... ;)

  • lovers beware...the marshall tucker band takes over The Watseka Theatre Watseka IL (90 miles from Chicago) on valentines day weekend saturday feb 12, 2011. Did I mention they have a bar there?

  • no jerry gray

  • scottyb43 Who is jerry gray?? Doug Gray is the lead vocalist and Jerry Eubanks is on flute and sax. Does this help cause the only people in the band are listed above.

  • @scottyb43 my mistake

  • That's not Caldwell signing, though, is it?

  • @greensox57 Toy Caldwell is the lead guitar player on this one. And Doug Gray is on the vocal. I think George McCorkle sang this song on the original record. Doug sang lead vocal on Heard it in a love song, and others. Caldwell sang lead vocal on "Can't You see" and some others. Doug had the best voice.

  • @greensox57 DOUG GRAY is singing this song and 97% of all the MTB tunes.

  • He changed the words at 1:57..!!

  • @172camper Ha! Slight variation.....i wondered if anybody else noticed.

  • totally awesome love the original tucker band and hell yeah put them in the RRHOF now amen and keep it southern .

  • @3:45 is that verse I mentioned.

  • " If you wrote all the women's names down I know, and let me pick one out. I don't think there'd be one in the whole bunch I'd give a hoot about" Good line there!

  • classic line!!!

  • "cause it aint gonna be the last time this ol cowboy spent the night alone" yeah baby!!!!!!

  • "Gotta get back to Denver and tie a couple of loose ends."

  • I think he said sittin' down in San Antoine.

  • But I said, "I'm sittin' down in Santa Fe."

  • Where was this? at the Asbury park convention hall or Tradewinds in in Sea bright ? Count Basie in Red Bank?

  • It's from the DVD, 'Live From the Garden State', Garden State Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ, 1981.

  • wow, two miles from my house

  • Thank You

  • "I'm sittin' down in Santa Fe

Waitin' on an eight o'clock train"

  • This song takes me away....

  • Toy is the reason I started to play guitar...THANK YOU! Closest thing to Gr8ful dead energy I've ever felt at a show!

  • RIP Toy, god rest your soul

  • "If there's one thing in life sugar ain't hard for me to do..."

  • "That's when I kiss the lips of a Colorado woman, I gonna forget all about you"

  • Cause this ain't gonna be the first time this ole cowboy spent the night alone!!

  • my 1st concert ever-1975 REO and MTB!!!

Never was the samne again! LOL Thx for this-really shows the true personalities of the good ole boys! LOVED IT! I had a crush on Toy for yrs-God Bless ^j^
