  • listened to these guys all my life! none of these bands now days can touch their music! i will continue to listen till i cant anymore

  • Oh my god...

  • It doesn't get any better!

  • Rossington is amazing, (3.37) onwards is awsome.

  • I was so into Skynyrd in the 70's. I can't tell you how many times we would go home from school put on a Skynyrd album and spark a big ol'e bad boy. Hell we would plug in an 8 track for the ride home. I loved Skynyrd then and I still do. The plane crash really got me down, it sucked. Johnny does a great job, but he is no Ronnie. Long live their Southern Rock Style.

  • Tough to top this

  • This band was as unique and talented as it gets

  • I love how all 3 guitarists storm the front of the stage @3:30 ....they were the truth

  • This show was played at Convention Hall if im not mistaken

  • oh hell yeah. I grew up with this, and it defined my generation.

  • Gotta love ya Georgia Honk

Hey says "some cunt" on the 76 Winterland disc

  • Pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd

  • What a great clip of a legendary band. I grew up close to Asbury Park in the70's and missed the show because of the deaths of my two uncles. A few months later and I knew it was a bad year. Lynyrd skynrd still rocks around my house. Thanks for the great video

  • Gary got that '59 Burst screamin'.......Hell yeah !!!!!

  • Hard to imagine Ronnie pissing his pants and running away from anybody.

  • Wait a minute, mister. I didn't even stick her.

  • planes just keep coming and killing all of the best musicians.

God damn how I miss that era!! It was my life!! A part of my life!! I miss it!!

  • Ronnie never wore shoes on stage. He said he liked the feel of the heat on hisfeet

  • rip Leonard Skinner

  • @CTSully1 Wow!!!First time i ever saw that!!!!!

  • Old Georgia honky tonk.......That smell ....1977 .....autumn, October was near .... So sad.....

  • Yes Sir Southern Rock Done Right. The 70's had to be the greatest decade of rock ever. We had long hair, wore bell bottoms, and drove fast cars. We respected our Dads and loved our Moms. We respected the flag and loved our country. For those that did not like it we'd kick their ass. Where has it all gone wrong? I'm for going back to the "good ole days" anybody You Tube fans want to ride with me? We'll take my 68 Camaro and listen to 8 track tapes...................

  • @hotstuffandicecream and I still love long hair and fast cars!

  • @metalbaby123

lol my hair fell out.... but if i had it, it would be long :0

  • gary misses five licks...... allen doesnt' know where he's at...few more show and they were gone...dam plane crash...But Ronnies voice was going it probally would have been the end anyway

  • @ezbaseball97 If fate had been different

& it wasn't, Skynyrd would have been one

of the great bands of today. I believed that

then and I believe it now both mind & heart.

  • @sonofachamp No doubt! I think that same thought so often.

  • You gotta love when Ronnie calls for his guitarist by saying at (3:32) "Bring all my mules out here" and whistles. What a classic bunch of talented guys...

  • What a loss when these guys died. So talented. Great rock bands never seem to last very long.

  • @SouthernRocker1000 iv never been a big fan of the 80s or the 90s but

the 50s 60s an 70s were definatlley pretty kickt ass i mean come on how could

you get a better song with modern music thand free bird

  • @SouthernRocker1000 thats for sure iv never been a big fan of the 80s an 90s

myselft but the 50s 60s an 70s inthe music secen were definatley kicktass

  • does anyone know how gary gets his sound/tone?

  • @superlinkarts From his Les Paul Guitar

  • @superlinkarts

That's a 59 lespaul They are priceless today. I would give a testy for one :P

On stage he used Peavey mace amps. Which are crap. Some say they put marshall guts in the Peavey mace amp boxes.

In the studio they used Marshall 50 watt amps (probably 1987 leads)and various fender combos.

I built my own jtm 45 then modded the pre to 1987 specs and I get very Skynyrd like sound.

You cant buy a fender or marshall new off the rack that will sound as good as the old ones.

  • @Zedar1234 What amps do allen, steve and ed use? All I know is that they might all use fender I really don't know.

  • @superlinkarts

Depends on the song. But mostly early Marshall's

check out the backline in this studio outtake.

    watch?v=yQYG8wRr_H0

Sweet home Alabama is mostly Ed King playing a 1972 strat through Allens marshall

  • @superlinkarts Used a hodge podge of marshals & fenders,before the went on to peavy,about 76!

  • vituttaa ku pillerit vietii,, tässähän tulee viel järkiinsä...

  • bahahahahahaha its didnt wnat to fight that man over that GUN u dumb dog

  • @beavaboi19 You can fight OVER a gun if one man is holding it to ur skull. Not much of a fight. He does say Cunt not Gun you simple Bitch. Now heal girl.

  • @fabolous2203! Hey there little boy! Shhh!

  • thanks 92586tony. high on music forever.

  • why did they have to go and get in a planecrash

  • It was their time.God called them home........

  • @tommyfisher62! I'm sure they didn't get up that morning and think to themselves, Golly gee it seems like nice day for a plane crash! LOL! Just fucking with ya dude! I love Lynyrd Skynyrd!!!

  • Admittedly I'm not a huge LS fan but this gave me goosebumps.Little did I know that some day that i'd be living 15 miles from Asbury Park. Thanks for filming these priceless clips brother Tony.

  • about 2 months before crash

  • The look Gary give Ronnie after 3:18 is priceless!!!!

  • i sayd ...EXCUSE MEEEEEEEEE

  • First song i ever played with a band!I love this song!!!!!

  • Convention Hall, Paramount, or Casino Arena?

  • Asbury Park

  • I always feel like Gary finger picks some of the songs. it looks like he does anyway.

  • Yes, he plays rythm, and lead equally at the same time, playing partial chords, mostly pickin the solo. Kinda like 2 guitarists in one- what a talent. If bach was a southern rocker, he'd play this way!!

  • I love this!!!!!!!

  • these guys r awesome. none better!!!

  • These guys played infectious grooves & complex stuff everything todays popular music is not. This is timeless

  • So true. Amen to that, brotha.

  • Aint that the truth my brotha! Amen.

  • @EZnKincade You're right... today's "music" is here today gone tonight...

  • Dam good music.

  • awesome.

  • ha ha Ronnie with his "I did'nt want to fight him over that cunt" that he'd always insert into the live versions. He changes the studio lyric "kiss her" to "stick her" as well. ha ha ha how we miss ye....anyways you gotta love a song with four guitar solos.

  • Bring all my mules out here and kick em! that was timeless.

  • Brings Back some serious flashbacks great song by great band. This is some awsume footage of one of the greatest bands ever. Good ole Southern Rock

  • Wait a minute mister I didnt even stick her ..... 3 guitars are better than one.

  • In this he says I didn't even stick her, though your right on the studio version it's kiss

  • Half right? I'll take it!

  • Rossington at his finest!!!!!

  • Gimme three steps mister!

  • ronnie is calling them his mules (at 3.33). funny! thank God for this country boy! so sad He already took him back...

  • Get down to the business.

  • Gary has a very unique picking style. He makes it look effortless.

  • ooooo this is rare, i never seen em do that short insturmental at the beginning..

  • damn.....Gibsons and Fenders never sounded better together! One of my favorite bands...real music!

  • GREAT SONG!

    Nice Guitar Work From Gary!
