@xCodix To his credit, Zetterberg did anticipate that hit and almost seemed like he leaped back whereas most players who unsuspectingly get hit, they're focus is complete forward momentum and their energy is much more explosive. Zetterberg and the likes of him who are aware are smart players which is why they're rarely ever out with injuries.

@20003606 holland blows. the only reason people may think hes so good is because hes had the same players to work with for years. none of them leave. drapper,maltby,lidstrom,ozzie,homer, mccarty. nothing has changed. and its all jim nill and his scouting staff. holland sucks ass at signing people and letting guys go. he kept quicny over chelios.stupid. signed williams.stupid. didnt resign downey. stupid. didnt sign chris neil. stupid. the list goes on and on. hes not that great.

@redwingfanz10 he signed zetterberg and datsyuk for 6 million a piece which is great because they could have easiily gotten 7 or 8 million somewhere else. he signed chelios over quick to show loyality towards his players. mccartys gone and has left before. ozzie has gone and left before the wings won a cup in that time. hollands team has the longest running playoff streak in sports history. hes one of the best gms ever.

@20003606 yeah thats the problem with the wings. loyalty. we need to let guys go and bring in new blood. this summer the wings need to dump maltby, meech, lebda, williams, and cleary. also we should pick up brad winchester and sheldon brookbank. 2 tough players that the wings could really use. and i also plan on doug janik playing in either meech's or lebda's spot.

@redwingfanz10 cleary had 16 goals and missed 18 games hes well worth what they pay for him. doug janik is worse than meech williams and lebs are both gone a maltby is going to have a two year contract. we still have datsyuk zetterberg franzen filipula holmstrom hudler lidstrom rafalski kronwall and stewart. thats a line up good enough to win a cup. kindl's coming up before janik. and once ericcson gets some confidence and experince he could be the best defenceman on the team in a few years.

@redwingfanz10 Oilers fan here...Holland is truly a genius compared to 99% of the other GMs in league history. Look at what he does with picks like zetterburg - wasn't Z like the 222nd pick overall his year...or was that datsyuk? either way, even though that was based on the reccomendation of his scouts, what other gm in the league would even try that? He's also managed to keep the stars of the franchise in place for millions LESS than what they could be getting. he manages S cap well, etc...

@oilkings123 The picks of Datsyuk and Zetterberg, along with many of these other guys weren't because of Kenny Holland. Granted the man is genius and one of the best hockey GM's of all time. Jimmy Devellano, Jim Nill and a few others had hands in making those amazing picks.

He dosent need to be stuck up for. The Wings players knew it was a clean hit so they let it go. The wings are one of the only teams in the league that respects the game enough to let that go thats why they are and will be the class of the NHL

@xCodix To his credit, Zetterberg did anticipate that hit and almost seemed like he leaped back whereas most players who unsuspectingly get hit, they're focus is complete forward momentum and their energy is much more explosive. Zetterberg and the likes of him who are aware are smart players which is why they're rarely ever out with injuries.
