If in the begining of the uprising he had simply reformed, and stepped down, and listened to some of the demands of the protestors this would not have happened. But, what did he do instead? He gave the order to shoot protestors and that radicalized the opposition. The more dictators crack down on their people, the more those people get pushed into the radicals corner, just like in Syria now.

Gas is cheap, houses are subsidized and overseas education is sponsored. I doubt that people would protest against Gaddafi. Also, there is footage of over a million Libyans in Tripoli supporting rallying for Gaddafi when he was giving a speech during the civil war (yes, it is a civil war). As a result I highly recommend that you look at both sides of the story.

If in the begining of the uprising he had simply reformed, and stepped down, and listened to some of the demands of the protestors this would not have happened. But, what did he do instead? He gave the order to shoot protestors and that radicalized the opposition. The more dictators crack down on their people, the more those people get pushed into the radicals corner, just like in Syria now.

@Legacy285 I really doubt these "protesters" exist. Libya is the most developed state in Africa, with the highest standard of living. Gas is cheap, houses are subsidized and overseas education is sponsored. I doubt that people would protest against Gaddafi. Also, there is footage of over a million Libyans in Tripoli supporting rallying for Gaddafi when he was giving a speech during the civil war (yes, it is a civil war). As a result I highly recommend that you look at both sides of the story.

I think you should read AI's report on this issue. Not to mention there is also plenty of videos online showing rebels murdering ppl.Also, while I do care about people dying, I support self-determination and thus strongly oppose international body's intervention on the sovereignty of independent states
