No. I think that episode of The Raggy Dolls was from the days when the ITV production company had its logo on the front of the programme (pre-1988). As it was now ITV policy to have no pre-programme production company idents, they had a late transition in order to cover up the YTV production ident.
I think you're right. Jeanne was probably timing her link to end with the '3-2-1' countdown being shouted in her earpiece by the director, who obviously failed to take into account the YTV ident appearing straight after the countdown clock! I expect he then ordered the vision mixer to wait until the opening titles had begun before mixing into the programme, in order to avoid showing the ident. It must have been the 1982-87 ident, not the 'liquid gold' one as that's too long for the gap here.
Thanks for posting this! I used to love those CITV afternoons with Jeanne Downs and Scally, they were the best!! Bring Back Stonewall! Kids nowadays don't know what they are missing!
These clips really are great. I really do feel we are all losing something the way kids tv is just fading away at the moment. These were the days you were really spoilt for choice now kids have to have sky really. On the good news front Mysterious cities of gold is coming to DVD next feb.
Great clip, always good to see Jeanne on CITV! Her timing was out a bit, maybe it wasn't her fault as she was normally pretty good at doing her links. Although, I do remember once she accidentally farted whilst on-air & said the word "Eggy", before a programme! Anyway, more clips of Jeanne is you have any please...
Thanks for sharing this with us Greg, looks like a slight error on Jeanne's timing there, could be wrong though!. Nice to see they took the trouble to block off the Central branding on the camera!
Jeanna Downs is so cute when she was on Children's ITV.

I think her timing was supposed to be like that.

By the looks of it, it was a late start from Kirkstall Road to blame.
BTW, did the regional announcers handle any 'you may be intrested to know' announcements at the end of the programmes?
