Truman was a freemason who did not go to church. I wonder if that affected his judgment. Why couldn't we have dropped the bomb in Tokyo Bay to scare the hell out of the Japanese? It seems to me that a true statesman such as John Kennedy would have found a better way to demonstrate this weapon. He did avoid nuclear war during the Cuban missile crisis and did not listen to the generals who wanted to bomb Cuba.

That man has an astonishing courage to tell such disturbing facts in public, that may also be true. It's a shame that there are so few people in the world like that.

The bombings absolutely were not justified. 1. It brought a new age of warfare into the world and set thegrounds for world extinction 2. Russians denied aid to Japanese in the war against us and Japan was getting ready to surrender. 3. Japanese would have surrendered had we changed the surrender terms and allowed them to keep their emperor. 4. Truman was racist and its arguable that he was only able to drop the bomb after labeling them as non human. 5. The # of GI's saved was greatly inflated
@L3theo - there's another new issue. The so-called atom bombs were in fact not atomic - it was a propaganda device. The question is why. It may simply have been a money-making scheme for physicists in fact.
BTW this is a counter to the idea that the Japanese could have been shown a demonstration, maybe on an uninhabited island. If the bomb was a hoax, they couldn't have done this - you need a gullible audience.

Articles like his really makes you realise how history has been manipulated by Govts to cover up unethical, inhumane, and outrageous behaviour: lesson learnt again: there is always 2 sides to the story!
Well, thanks for commenting. It's not just governments - they can have the wool pulled over their eyes too. Think of the money spent on weapons. On a smaller scale there ar computer rip-offs, like the NHS. The legal system has its own massive frauds. ...
