I love this program. Among my favourite pairs routines ever, most programs are from Gordeeva/Grinkov. Without doubt the best figure skating pair ever.

The love those two had for each other is the most beautiful and wonderul thing in the world. They were one of the rare couples who were so in love that people around them or watching them could feel the love between them. I will never forget when he died, it was so shocking and hearbreaking. In the ending of Titanic when you see Rose's pictures you can see that she lived her life waiting to go home to Jack. I can imagine that is the Ekaterina lives hers, waiting to go home to her Sergei.

I was in the audience for this, it was at what was then the Baltimore Arena in 1994 just after the Olympics. This program was the very first program after the introduction of all the skaters, and I remember thinking that it was just so, so elegant. My mom and I were sharing a pair of binoculars back and forth (she had them at the end) and she said, "Ohhh, he's going to kiss her!!!" He died the next year, so I never, ever forgot seeing this performance of Porgy and Bess. It was beautiful.

We didn't have very much money whe I was growing up, so I never got to see any of the Stars on Ice shows except for on tv. I wish I would have been able to see at least one performance of G&G in person.
