Not true. I had a custom firmware PS3 a couple months ago before it broke. You could play as all of the bosses and misc characters like the Tarkatan. When you played as Shao Kahn or Goro, if you knew the input the fatalities can be done. I must say it's awesome to play the ladder as Shao Kahn, he's unbeatable.

Everytime he does a fatality on me its been this 1, I've only had the other 1 where he shoves both his hands into your body and rips you in half only twice or three times.
