Fuck this Silent Hill they made it like resident evil and with the gun its like a FPS. I really hate the combat of this game which you need to dodge more of the attacks of the enemies before you hit them.

Yes it got more gore, but the hole Atmosphere is the same as in other Silent Hills. The only Scene till now which doesnt fit to Silent Hill was the one in the police station...

@shotgunnsman For the essential storyline, go with Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3 (the first one's on the PS1 and Playstation Network, and 2 and 3 are PS2 games).  They'll tell you everything you need to know about what's going on. All of the games are good, but those three are the most important to the story.

@shotgunnsman You definitely have to play Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3 and I would also recommend Silent Hill Origins ... But I think that every SH game is worth having. And dont be affraid of bad graphics of SH1 because its good that those graphics are so weird cause its even more scary. If you are interested in the story you just CANT skip the first one ;)

Great to know there's other's who love Homecoming (sure it was glitchy as hell) but it had really nice story and Alex had the most realistic reactions on what was happening compared to all other silent hill Characters. Most of people are just seeing new Silent hill games as crap cuz they are too 'old' to appreciate anything made nowadays- and homecoming isn't much different than the other SH anyways.

@venanciomiki I don't think so, all you need to know is silent hill is a dark place, and for each game it has its own take on silent hill. I'd recommend getting Silent Hill Shattered Memories first, just for something a little slower paced and for something a little more new :) I liked it because it was just beautiful and akiras music is just lovely.

Even if it wasn't all that great, Silent Hill Homecoming was certainly a positively refreshing experience that got some undeserved fan backlash and while I hardly hold it as a prime example of Silent Hill's magic, I noted a fair amount of quality most people overlooked. Sadly, fans couldn't see it for its own merits and merely criticised it on the grounds of it being Silent Hill. Not the shining masterpiece the first four games were, but hardly the trash it's made out to be. Thanks Climax! :)
