  • nice long love how he layed u back in the barbers chair for shampooing and with in 30 minutes u were getting clippers cleaning the neck very cute cut

  • Your hair looks cute graduated:)

  • You look so pretty with your new hair. Your smile lights up your whole face.

  • oh my goddd. it looks so much betterrr i think!

  • i did that and it was awesome i gave 13 inches

  • u look great with the short cut

  • I'm getting my long hair cut off probably next week, and I'm really nervous.....but it really makes me happy to know that I might be being a good person by donating it. :)

And to all those that think it's stupid and you should be donating other things; what if you can't afford to do so? I just think it's always good to try and give something. :)

  • you know, locks of love is a sham. they sell most of the donated hair to wig companies for a profit. you're better off selling your hair and donating the money to a charity of your choice.

  • they use the money the get from hair shorter than 10 in to make the wig. the wig costs thousands of dollars to make.

  • +1 respect points for you for doing this, My mother just did this as well and I made a video showcasing it so I hope it gets popular like yours.

I personally believe in Locks of love and always will. Its just the ability, the option, to give your hair so it hopefully turns to a wig for someone that needs it.

For someone that has either cancer OR NOT. What the hell is wrong with you people who are against that? People need wigs for those that lose hair if they wish to wear it.

  • I'm glad when you went for a short do, you decided to donate your hair, instead of trashing it ;-)

What bothers me is that some women and even children(!) FEEL OBLIGATED to cut their precious hair, whilst those who really WANT to part from it, often don't bother to send their ponytails in...

(Ever more since LOL sells most ponytails for lets say $5,- a piece, and therefore doesn't mind receiving the money instead.)

  • lolijuhy14 it is soo not a scam! so just back off!

  • Pervert with a haircutting fetish.

  • "silver56uk" is definitely a hair fetish pervert AND likes girls dressed in mens shirts/ties. He closed that account after being pressured to leave young girls alone on here. He now uses "dogfish281". He has also once requested a boy get a haircut in a school uniform and video it for him. He's a real creep.

  • does locks of love really do that?? im going to donate my hair this year, and even if 99% is sold, theres still that 1% who needs wigs and im willing to help out those kids who are battling illnesses :)

  • Even the 1% that goes to alopecia kids isn't free, it has to be paid by the family. According to the tax returns, Locks of Love has made millions from selling hair and from money donations, they're not a charity. You do much more good by donating money or blood than donating your hair.

  • Well for all you guys who think its a scam, i don't think its that bad because they must use a bunch of money to make the wigs so they could look real. The only way they could make the wigs is by selling them. Besides, where else do people get good wigs, because my teacher has a wig, and its SO fake. I just did it myself =)

  • Locks of Love sells 99% of the hair, and even the remaining 1% that goes to wigs for alopecia patients isn't free. They have also recieved millions of dollars as money donations so to say that they need money to make wigs is nonsense. Yes, Locks of Love is indeed a scam.

  • then who do we donate our hair to? T_T

  • Good question. It's much better to donate blood or money to a reputable organization. Hair doesn't cure anyone anyway, proper care might. By donating blood or giving money to cancer research for example you're actually helping someone. Besides, in most cases of hairloss due illness synthetic wigs are better anyway.

  • i did this too!go girl!

  • That was a mistake. Your hair was either sold or thrown away. Locks of Love is a scam.

  • i did this 2 times and im planning on a third soon

  • LoL is a scam. See comments above.

  • wow i wouldnt cut my hair unless i was getting it cut for locks of love

  • Locks of Love is a fraud. See comments above.

  • How did you find this out?

Thanks for telling me, by the way...

  • LoL themselves have stated that they collect around 2000 ponytails a week, that's over 100,000 ponytails a year. They say it takes 6 to 10 ponytails to make one wig. If we say 10 that would be over 10,000 wigs per year. The have been in business since 1997 and have only made over 2000 wigs in over 10 years. Less than 1% goes to alopecia patients (NOT cancer patients) and even that has to be paid as they admit on their own website.

  • Also, they don't meet the Better Business Bureau's Standards for Charity Accountability.

  • Thank you.

  • what song is this???

  • Locks of Love isn't even for cancer patients -- it's for kids with alopecia (a genetic condition leading to the random and permanent loss of one's hair -- it's non-life threatening, and those who have it are generally healthy).

  • You're right ofcourse. I wasn't even aware until recently that people are being mislead in that regard too.

  • alopecia is the main disease they give wigs to but also they give it to kids with cancer and also the disorder that is repetitive hair pulling. I read the site.

  • Firstly, LoL doesn't "give" wigs, the family of the kids have to pay for them, they admit as much on their own website. And in any case 99% of the hair doesn't go to anyone sick, it's sold elsewhere. Secondly, I haven't ever seen or read even LoL themselves claim that any hair goes to cancer patients. Do you have proof that it has ever actually happened?

  • Human hair for making children's wigs needs to be a minimum of 12" long. "Below [your] shoulders" is a vague measurement, but my room-mate is six-and-a-half feet tall and "below the shoulders" on him still yields a ponytail less than 12" long. I'm sure your heart's in the right place, but your donations probably weren't even used.

  • no i know, mine was 16 1/2 "

im 6ft tall so trust me it def made the limit

  • im donation 18 inches today.

  • iv been waiting for my hair to grow long and then donate it

so now my hairs grown almost 2 & 1/2 feet !

    :D

    cant wait .

  • Your face its like the one of a serie but I don't rememeber what serie

  • your tellin me

  • I'm doing this tomorrow at school... in front of the entire school that is. Yikes!

  • how come you have to do it in front of the entire school? Well anyways good luck it really is liberating haveing your hair cut and knowing that it is going for a good cause I did it about two years ago and now because it was such a good feeling I am growing it out just so that I can do it again. I hope you like your new look comment on my page and let me know how you made out k? k!

  • Locks of Love receives more hair that they actually use to make wigs for cancer patients.

Locks of Love SELLS the suplus hair for CASH! How much are they selling the hair for? In 2005, they sold $352,401 of hair!

Most of the hair donated does not end up on a child's head. It ends up being sold to commercial wigmakers.

My friends daughter had been burned in a fire and had to pay for the wig she bought from locks of love...

  • I actually got a very nice letter from Pantene saying that my hair had been given (I don't know if it was sold) to them to make a wig for a Cancer patient. Each wig costs $3,000 to make so how else are they supposed to get in the money if they don't get enough donations to meet the needs that they have? Just wondering since I've heard this argument so often. It's still a non-profit organization unlike the American Cancer Society which so many people donate to that my family w/ cancer dislikes

  • Wigs For Kids has never charged a kid for a Wig. If they can do if and they are smaller than Lock of Love, why can't Locks of Love do it. Its all about money.

  • i cut my hair 4 locks of love and it was so think they had 2 put it into 4 ponytails they said it would make 4-8 wigs

  • its by superchick its called anthem ^^

  • thank you so much i have cancer and u helped a lot by doing this. GOD BLES YOU!!

  • cute cut! what is the name of the song?

  • That is soooo great that people do stuff like that my cousin shaved her head for it!!someday ounce i grow my hair out some more i wil do it but not get my head shaved make it so i have it down to my sholders!

  • im a guy and im gonna do it... tell me if u think its only for chicks though... wever... ill do it anyway even if it is only for chicks

  • Actually, it's not. I met this guy on the plane who was doing the exact same thing. I wish I could grow my hair out and cut it off, but my hair grows like an inch a year!!

  • lol :D

but anyway, i go to a catholic school and they dont like long hair, so im gonna hide it in my shirt :D

  • I just did it and I'm a guy.

  • good for you! my three daughters and myself just did this and posted a blog on it. it felt really good to do it.

  • oh i love your new haircut

and i'm sure you'll make a kid really happy too!

  • Found this video via google. You look great with short hair! I want to donate to Locks of Love but I need to keep growing it out...a bit bummed that the 10 inch ponytail is a must. Anyway, thanks for posting this.

  • Love that shinny siver cape

  • I would love to watch this video in slow motion

  • awesome, good for you! =D That cut is reallllyyyy cute. I've donated mine once already. I'm a blonde. I think I have like four or five inches in a ponytail right now. But I'm gonna let it grow a little longer than the requirement so someone can have nice long hair. =]

  • Tried to get it cut but they only had nine inches on my head. As they needed ten. But hopefully next time would be better. Good for you my friend.

  • Wow, such a big heart for such a beautiful little girl...

    =];)>~

  • What a great vid! You look so nice with a short haircut. How did you like having your hair cut in a barber shop?

  • People like chavez are just against women with cute short hair. (Do they want women to have that long ponytail to drag us around by like cavemen?) Of course LOL has to sell much of the hair, it's how they afford to pay wigmakers & top stylists to produce wigs that Hollywood models pay $3,000-$12,000 for! If a child or woman gets one for free or even $300 (based on need) so what!? AWESOME video, GORGEOUS HAIRCUT!!!

  • TO CHAVEZ78

my friend works in locks of love and im sure she wouldnt appreciate you lying about what they do.and why would they put that info on google? they would be sued just like that and ppl put whatever they want on the internet so locks of love is not a scam idiot

  • AMEN! (Besides, she looks so pretty with that DARLING smart cut! I LOVE it!!)

  • yeah, they sell it to offset the price

    duh

  • This is awsome im gonna donate my hair to locks of love in a couple of months its 15" atm but I want to keep it long for awhile longer :)

  • You're awesome!!! Nice show!

  • Can I donate I have got curly hair?

  • I'm pretty sure you can :) I think they take all donations and if they can't use them they sell them to have more money for more wigs (since each wig cost a lot to make).

  • @pep34563 yes you can. it says so on the website. donations need to be 10inches long when pulled straight if it's curly

  • Why dont you do more videos like tis one?

Is the best video I have watched

  • what song is this?

  • Anthem by Super Chick

  • i'm doing the same thing

  • you look great

  • Great short haircut and shampoo. He did a great job, but nape should have been shorter and shaved up further.

  • Locks of love has issues. They make very few wigs in proportion to the donations they receive. Most of the donations are SOLD! Their cash reserves get larger by the year. I wonder why? And they trade on the misconception that the wigs go to cancer kids. They do NOT!

  • you look mmmmazaing!

  • daaannng u look better

  • freakin fantastic! good for you!

  • This is a great haircut video well done and your haircut looks fantastic he did a great job of it.Were you nervous when you entered the barbershop?
