  • I'm a girl and I've always had such a high voice, and I hate it. I want to have a much much deeper voice. But I'm scared that I might change my mind about this sometime in the future and want my original voice back. Will this be perminant?

  • @sonicsarahx It won't be permanent, but a great way to deepen your voice is to understand how the human vocal instrument works, and then applying it. Like a violin player understanding her instrument. We learn so many bad habits through life, and as a result of tension and stress, develop patterns that hinder a deep, resonant voice. A good resource is Per Bristow's Sing With Freedom program. It is for speaking as well as singing. 5 stars! Google "The Singing Zone".

  • @sonicsarahx Another (less expensive) resource is the book "Set Your Voice Free" by Roger Love. $12 at Amazon.

  • While the vocal cords are delicate, they still have the capacity to stretch. That's how higher and lower tones are created (not resonance). Aldan is not damaging his cords. It would take a lot more than that. Go for it Aldan!

  • I think if this is helping Aldan, then it is fine. The vocal cords - while delicate - still have the capacity to stretch, which is what vocal warm-ups are all about. Aldan is not overdoing it. Go for it, Aldan!

  • I usually do this in the shower in the morning before going to school :)

  • ooo i see that the stretching really helps

youve got such a deep manly voice

  • your mental and retarted O..o eeeeeeeee oooooo aaaa eeeere doooo

  • This is one of the most detremental things you can do to your vocal chords. I've read about the success stories of many people, but it can backfire terribly. I don't see the point in risking the development of nodules by beating your vocal chords together in an unnatural position. Something equally effective and equally controversial: smoke cigarrettes. Yeah you can get cancer, but streching the chords incorrectly just one time can cause irrepairable damage.

  • How would it damage your vocal cords? If you dont mind me asking.

  • The danger lies in the stretching of the chords as you drop the larynx. I had a friend attempt this technique and felt his vocal chords "pop." It has been over a year and he is still in the recovery process. It was a freak accident, but it could happen to anyone. If you decide to try this technique, I would recommend doing some vocal warmups first.

  • I see. I admit I thought this technique was a kind of vocal warm up, so I thought of it as more of a way to help protect and exercise the vocal cords so they dont get damaged. If it is damaging in itself then I have more to learn. Ty

  • Hard to believe but this actually works. Tried it myself, but with the technique where you lean your head back and look up at the ceiling, so it stretches the vocal chords.

After 3 or 4 cycles in a row my voice is REALLY low without even trying.

Kinda scary at first, but then cool as it stays that way for hours.

    Great fun!

  • You can be like richard horvitz

  • lol man your voice didnt changed by itself, you just imitated at the end the deep voice lol I still believe the shout a lot and thats better hehe

  • like shaolin noobs lol

  • Thanks so much for posting this!

  • dam if you watch the whole vid, then at the end listen to her voice, if u skipp back to da begining of the vid you can def hear the differnece

  • omg yeah you can.

  • Not a she. He's a he.

  • Wow! Thanks for explaining, I didn't really understand how to do it, was very helpful =)

  • I was recently told (by a reputable source) that this sort of vocal exercise will wreck your vocal chords. I had been doing it for a week or so and it did make my voice feel different.

  • ""ever heard of that?" Actually, a lot of people haven't heard of this backwards lifestyle. It's wrong, and people afflicted with this need to get their heads checked. "

What did the world ever do to deserve being cursed with bigots like you? How the flying fuck can it be WRONG?

  • Rofl... and i thought they were singing excersices xD.. lmfao...

  • Hi Aiden

Thank you so much for this video. You are really great to share your experience with others. Millions of thanks.

  • Keep at it cat, but a few pointers-

The only sound you want to be hanging on to is the 'ng' sound at the end of each word, which vibrates the chords and allows them to stretch when you tilt your head back. Focus more on that, for example while you're saying "diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnng" you need to be saying "dinnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggg". Sometimes it helps to put your hands on your chords and feel them vibrate.

  • can't you read? he's a girl on his way to be a boy. transsexuality. ever heard of that?

  • haha are you on AIM at the same time? lmao

  • Wow, Your so cool dude. Good Job

  • LOL you're doing it so. Wrong. So terribly wrong, dude, considering that your regular speaking voice is still at Smurf-like proportions. By the end of this video, you actually sound like a "girl trying to lower her voice" rather than a transdude speaking from the chest instead of the back of the throat. The former does not last and does not work; the latter, if you train yourself, works.

  • So, we have to talk from the back of the throat, right? And not from the the chest?

  • No, a male voice comes from the chest. A female voice is more throaty and heady.

  • ... xD Thank you. I'd been trying to figure all morning wtf I was doing wrong. If you try to go just from the chest, man-voices work ALOT better, it would seem.

  • wow! that's nuts how well it works!

    I'm starting right now..

  • thank you so much for posting this, it has been very useful! x ant.
