I think Stephen should often go to church a little more cause a future person after 2000 years cannot say that there is no god or heaven. He's makes everyone get worried, where will we be when we die? Will we be in heaven? or in a blank place for centuries? I wish he would have never said that. The only heaven on Earth will come if "you" are enlightened. I agree that focusing on some dream state after death makes people less conscious while they are alive. The fear of death is two fold, mental fear of non existence, and emotional/evolutionary fear built into us by nature. It is an error to want to die, but also an error to fear it. No one know what lies after death but the dead, and they keep their secrets to themselves.

How could Stephan Hawking even with his over sized ego and brain, know if heaven is true. I don't say exist because heaven cannot be existential by nature.Heaven cannot exist, but lies outside existence, therefore is unquantifiable. So anyone that says that it does or does not based on qualities does not know what they are talking about. Our imaginings of the state of heaven, are like musings on dimensions we cannot perceive, like the fourth dimension, which is real, but does not exist.

@Elenkhos 4th dimension to 10 even 11 exists mathematically. Most of the dimensions beyond are basically theories of space curl and the dimensions are hidden in subatomic particle physics. If what you say is possible on your theory, then heaven will be a very small and highly energetic medium. I find him no less arrogant than people claiming of a deity or particular religion.
