This is not transparent text. It's called "clipping mask"

@pediamuusika You're right, it is using a clippin mask but the effect allows the text to become transparent, hence the name of the video.

when i scroll over the layer to fill it with the paint bucket, all i see is the hand and not the bucket. what am i doing wrong?

@4609mwp Hey there. Make sure that you are on the layer that needs to be filled and that the fill tool is selected also (G on the keyboard). Let me know if you are still having trouble.
