Yes, 412mhz on a 620mhz capable processor.... BUT! Since you decided to compare it with the new iPhone 3G S, it's 600mhz downclocked from 833Mhz. Anywho, what about the other specs? It's appropriate to say that your Omnia is of no competition to the new 3G S. Maybe if you owned an Omnia HD, and said "My Omnia HD is better," you may have had slightly more success. (I'm not implying that the Omnia HD is better though but it certainly is much better than the original Omnia.)

I wasn't comparing it to the iPhone 3GS, and i was comparing it to the iPhone 3G. Btw i don't have an Omnia, but i want a Palm Pre. it's 800Mhz on a 1Ghz processor

iPhone is over-hyped, everyone knows that. And pretty much the only difference between the 3GS and the 3G is a faster processor and a 5 megapixel camera. They put so much emphasis on the camera, despite the fact that the 'touch focus' was copied from the Viewty Smart and there are already going to be 12 megapixel shooters coming out.

The higher resolution doesn't mean better pictures. You can have 100 megapixel and 2mm lens and you still have terrible pictures. Camera resolution is another trick.

Anyway Megapixels are not that important especially when talking about small format sensors such as those found in phones high MP means lots of signal to noise ratio in small format senors which is why Apple doesnt bother with headline grabbing figures, they just build products that work well.

Right for a start 3 is not necessarily worse than 5, compare the 5mp LG Tocco to a 3.2mp Nokia (look on flickr and search by camera) the Nokias are far better because they use a well balanced lens and sensor combination. Life is all about balance as you will learn with age. Yes there are phones out there that do one or maybe two things better than an iphone but not as a package nobody else makes a device that does as much aswell the others make phones with add-on's Apple make a mini computer

Apple's products are usually over-hyped, like the MacBooks. Steve Jobs constantly stretches and bangs on about how 'good' it is, without really telling us the specifics.
