@antiemo666777 if u think ableton is "super confusing" don't even bother trying anything else, it's all you need really anyway as a musician and not a computer technician, stick with it
Have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation from Music Computing? The integrated controller works beautifully with Ableton. Check out the videos on our profile! Follow the link below!
It is not free software - software that gives users certain freedoms. It has nothing to do with whether it is commercial or not. Free software can be commercial and in fact I am paying a subscription to a lot of free software packages, to fund their further development.
Nice dude! I just bought the PadKontrol which is an awesome midi controller by the way.. and when tried to install the bundled Abelton Live Lite 6 software that came with it -it rejected the serial number that was on the back of the CD ...does anyone out there have a working serial they could spare or know where to get one??? thanks i'd really appreciate it...
In Ableton you go to File, Export Audio/Video, Render Track from Master (make sure you have it at the beginning and it's on arrangement mode), Normalize: On, File Type: Wave, and leave the rest the same. Once it's rendered send it through an mp3 converter (I use Switch Sound File converter it's free) there you go!
you know I use to play a lot with video games and did some production with logic, but I cannot handle how much fun I get playing with live and making crazy sounds on it.
Hey who can give a hand here ..... im really confused..... I love ABLETON but its supposed that LOGIC its the shit right now,, and that its the leader on the game .. please if some one can REALLY tell me which one I should buy .... ABLETON LIVE or LOGIC PRO .....I really appreciate some help
I use both, it really depends on what you are using it for. Logic is a more complete studio package much better for recording (IMHO) multitracks and processing audio. It has a very mature range of included synths. Live on the other hand is brilliant as an instrument for jamming and improvisation. It is much favoured in DJ'ing circles and is loads of fun.
I've been looking at both myself recently. I gather Logic is great for multitrack recording and mixing and I would choose it over Pro Tools any day. I primarily compose electronic music so I want a program that I can throw samples into quickly and loop/chop/pitch/warp them however I please. Ableton Live is best for that sort of creative experimentation. BOTH programs can be ReWired to Reason, utilize 3rd-party instruments/plugins and come with their own native soft synths.
The program does have limitations but with the right plugins it is very versatile and will probabally keep you going for quite some time before you learn what the limitations mean (lack of decent envelope filters and advanced midi editing like groove quantization imo), how to get round them and also don't forget there are many unique features like audio warping and the awsome UI that allows you to trigger loops and scenes.
can someone please tell me is this program easy to make remixes. Im use to Reason where you have to chop it up in peices to get the song in. with abelton can you just trow a wav file in and play a bassline/ drum beat over it??
you should use reason and ableton together. drop your raw audio in and chop it up and then use reason to add your own beats and synthlines without having to switch programs. rewire lets you integrate reason into ableton for recording.
Yes. I am moving from a Reason-only setup like you described to a Live+Reason setup. ReCycle loops are ideal for SOME situations, but you don't want to have to make a rex file for every single loop in your song. In Live you can chop your samples wherever you like on-the-fly.
The Guys of Ableton have done real good work. Everything works stable! Every Sound and FX Plugin! I tryed everything: Cubase SX 3 - dont work with my 4 Core intel. Sonar crashes all the Time. FL8 is a Toy and Orion 7.5 too. But Live 7 is the greatest shit ever! Thank u guys. GO ON!
go traktor'' hahahahahah you dumbass, traktor is for mixing only and has a few shitty effects. ableton is for producing music from scratch... traktor lol, any 'dj' that uses traktor is a fag.
Hi, live needs to have a keyboard shortcut nudge feature like logics' or cubases', and have the copying of automation to be different. Please leave me a comment or message me about this. Ableton is the shit still, i agree with ImperialPimp.

You can even export individual channels with all settings, fx, midi-data by simply drag a channel and drop it in the file browser.
