The Britain episode isn't really bizarre food to be honest...yummy, proud to be European :)

(my friend is American and she has been living in EU for few years now, first she was disgusted now she can't get enough of this sort of food, I often wonder, if I would move to Thailand, would I start eating fried tarantulas?? :D

to anyone who aint english or havnt tried christmas pudding ,, lets clear this right up ,, yeah our mums make or buy a christmas pudding for christmas day but not many people actaully eat it or enjoy it lol we all take a slice to be polite and its got to be so most heavy pudding in the world full of gritty fruit with a taste of brandy ,, picture the scene you have eaten a huge amount of turkey with every type of veg and stuffing going then you eat this pudding ,not really a good combo lol

For a program that deals with unusual aspects of food, I find it odd that no mention was made of how long Christmas pudding is stored before eating.

The program only mentioned that the mixture is left before cooking but the more interesting thing - for those that don't know - is that after the pudding has been steamed it's then usually stored away for anything from a month to a whole year. The sugar, fat, alcohol and spices preserve it perfectly and the flavour develops and deepens over time.

Even though I don't like christmas pudding, i never thought other people would think it was bizarre lol, i suppose it just goes to show it all depends on where you are from/your culture. I wouldnt say alot of these bizarre foods are actually common in the UK...they are available but its not like everyone eats them all the time. Each to their own! lol x

actually, in Indonesia especially in Medan, there's a dish called SAKSANG where we also cook pork meat and inner part with pig's blood and other seasoning... taste really good!! blood... yummy...
