I don't accept that the new generation is looking for anything different than what we've always been looking for. Depending on the moment, they want bangers that make them crack their neck, they want tracks that put them in a zone where they can sit back and chill. The ladies want something that makes them feel sexy and loved. And everyone wants something that makes them think a little bit-at least sometimes. Every generation wants that real hip-hop. And I've always been able to bring that
damn why didn't Rakim officially put this on the 18th letter? i prefer this anyday over "Stay Awhile" or "Show Me Love"-those two aren't bad its just this is way better imo
Sounds like a Clark Kent job, anyone know for certain? This track was announced as part of the album line up in pre-release interviews with Rakim but when The 18th Letter was released, it wasn't on the album and I bought it specifically for this song! I'd love to know why Universal omitted it, the only thing I can think of is that MJ and Sony Music wanted too much for the sample usage.
@JayArgonaut can't find info on this track...I searched also thru DISCOGS but nothin...yea probably there is the great Clark Kent behind this...he produced other tracks from the "18th Letter"...one of my favourite producers
@dwighthoward1 Rakim light em up... been looking for this song for about 12 years. If im right it came out around the time of THIS album enlightened me pls... Google it once and this came up Thanks for the post.
