well GW was a good anime...eureka 7 got my attention, mechas riding on boards..really a good idea it had drama and romance.....NGE is a disturbing anime but once you start watching it over and over you'll understand whats goin on especially the last few episodes...
My Favs are Gundam, Godanner, and Gurin Lagain. not sure if i spelled it right. on another note you menteoned in your rant about ADV, I have to show them some love cause they are not just all about mechs. hell my first anile i watched came from them, so they got a special place in my heart. but with that said, there is really only so much you can do in a genra like mech anime before you run into simmilarities or the compleatly out there. but at any rate there is my 2 cents on this matter.
To answer your question, my favorite mech anime is (I know everybody is on the other end about this) Gundam SEED Destiny, and the ones I dislike are actually two of the ones you named off, Evangelion (too strange for me) and Eureka Seven (I don't really dislike it, I was just never able to get into it)
