  • i brought thr 12'' in london. 1980. numan is a visionary

  • @machman36 What you pay for original copy?

  • Classic track, Numan was ahead of his time!

  • GARY CAN DO NO WRONG...f...ing fantastic!

  • All - Remember I was vapour with the original mix is on the compilation CD - Exposure ( Jagged Halo Label) No joy Circuit though ...

  • There are definitely some variations out there with Telekon, most noticeable on Vapour and the Joy Circuit.

  • Gary I don't remember you being vapor. I also don't remember it being spelled with a u. You Brits :)

  • @DimensionsofChange umm it is spelled with a u... and everyone was once vapour... its true.

  • @SweetLovelyBunny I don't recall being vapor or vapour for that matter. In the States it's spelled with out a u.

  • @DimensionsofChange you wouldn't recall it, you weren't alive yet... :)

  • @SweetLovelyBunny Was this before or after The pleasure principle?

  • @DimensionsofChange No matter, this is Gary we debate?

  • @superunt43 Wait what?

  • @SweetLovelyBunny LMAOROONTF

  • Only version I have with the added synth part is on the original 1987 pressing of the album on CD.

Not sure if it's on the Asylum version or on the 1993 reissue.

Song sounds so empty without it.

Odd no 30th re issue of Telekon after Replicas and Pleasure Principle got their treatments.

  • Only 6000 views? You gotta` be kidding me! :( ...

  • this album has such an ethereal beauty about it, i dont care what anyone says, after this it went down hill, the last truely great numan album. this was always going to be a hard act to follow, dance and i assassin, while good, dont reach anywhere near the same heights; ok i'll rephrase, after i assassin it was all down hill, and i agree with those who say he relies way to much on ade (who is a good musician, but the other chap i dont know much about)

i'm really not a fan of his newer stuff.

  • @paradoxstate truly the downfall of Gary Numan the Great, but we still have such a library of his good stuff to include Tubeway Army!!!

  • Goose bumps, anyone?

  • thanks for the send,i love this record-cheers!!!

  • Hey guys, at least we can hear it on youtube when our record players aren't working!

  • there's nothing-here-but-us....there's nothing-here-but-us...

  • the best album ever

  • remember i was vapour, remember i was just like you.... Fantastic gary!

  • Yeah, all those bubbling percolating synths were during the violin solo on the original,it's too bad they mixed it out. they moved all over your headphones and gave the song a hell of a dreamsequence.

  • Are you saying the synth is in this one?

  • "The missing synth part" was remixed on the cd version, which of course that is what appears to be uploaded.

  • I'm glad others have noticed the missing synth part - I honestly thought my headphones were on the blink when I listened to my Telekon cd!! A real shame it being left out on the cd, WHYYYY????I ask. Still, I have the vinyl from the year so can still wallow in the original version. Lovely song with many thought provoking effects!!!!

  • I don't know wy it was cut from the cd, but I think I have the original vinyl mix somewere, if I still have it I'll upload it soon

  • god i love this album played it all the time in my room happy days

  • NIN's cover of Metal uses parts of this as the outro, that's why it was so long.

  • @Realworstnightmare

Im afraid you are wrong, the outro that NIN use at the end of Metal is actually from M.E.

  • greatest headphones song ever !!!

  • i will second that one

  • one of the best songs ever!

  • I love this song, the lyrics are something else out of this world.

  • a more depresing feel. You can see how this connects with his stuff he writes now a days

  • i always lvoed this song, and it sounds so much better live.

  • there's a synth part missing at 3:16.

  • nah its the album version

  • You're right dstdvl. I have this on cassette and used to have it on vinyl and at the 3:16mark, there is a spacey synth solo. It's not on the CD version of the album for some strange reason. Check out the live version from the Micromusic clip here on Youtube, and the keyboardist performs the solo only Numan vocalizes along with it.

  • I know what you guys are talking about now. i never had this on cassette, but check the live version from Living Ornaments '80. I'm not sure, but I think that synth part you're talking about is in that live version.

  • I saw the telekon tour....i knew i was seeing something light years ahead

  • this is a great one on the Telekon album.

  • Now here we go, I love this one.
