I would disagree poker is MORE % based on luck then magic (magic is also based on a certain % of luck) but the pro european m:tg players at the top level (again worlds, etc, etc in TR) have taken their knowledge with MTG over to pro poker and done very well and have even stated in interviews in 2003>2005 that poker was much easier for them to guess the counters, and what was going to happen (IE much more possiblities in MTG then poker) although agreement is that both can be played adequately
Reitbauer punted game two. Had he not used Terminate or Lightning Bolt on the Goblin Ruinblaster and taken a few hits before pulling the trigger (knowing his opponent probably sideboarded the burn out, as it's not very good against Jund), he'd have a valid target for Bituminous Blast. He cleared the board, sure, but then had no answers for bigger creatures. If he kept the Lightning Bolt, he could have even killed the Great Sable Stag. Heh.
@DTrooper458 how was he supposed to know what he was going to draw. He made the right play: cancel out the other deck and count on Jund to do what Jund does best.
lol, magic had a time where every1 knew what it was...everyone played...then...BAM... vanished and from some years now its regrowing =)
me and my friend rented a room for magic players of my city, and if they dont play magic, we have begginner decks, or decks easy to use so they can start, and then we give them to choose the deck clour(s) and we order it from the internet, we hope to get this going in here =)
@tubemankiwi Ive been playing TR - local and semi-on the east coast since 1996 (15 years now) and trust me magic never went away to the mainstream folks who were (casual) at best it disappeared but lol - from 1993>present 18 years and going magic has never died out (its one of the ONLY TCG's that hasnt died out and has remained popular) its just some people failed to take notice or the mainstream grew tired of it (because it wasnt the "new" thing) anymore but its been around and active for now
@tubemankiwi sorry didnt elaborate I meant almost (being 18 years now) of M:TG Play (both on the casual level for that entire span of time and on a local (RT) regular tournaments (local) not on a national or worlds level (extended) so basically from the time of initial release in august of 1993> to present day (which is roundabouts almost 18 years - of play I was 13 when M:TG was first introduced (the local store where I lived @ was called Strategic Castle it still stands they had the FNM and
@tubemankiwi booster draft, roundtable, small-time rewards for competitive play (i guess that was considered local regular tournaments back then without the inclusion of more technical things) t2, extended, etc - as the years went by the store has went through some changes but M:TG has remained (not quite 20 years but closing in) as still a popular item now as it was nearly 18 years ago and theres been a consistent group of diehard players (still mainly casual) that walk into the store anytime

lol...i wish, but (not too offend anyone) poker is uberly-simple compared too magic, they have too keep it simple for their audience lol.
starscreen85 1 year ago
@starscreen85 Simple yes, but more skill is needed in poker. It's not massivly hard to play a magic deck optimally
