  • i was on bedrest most of my pregnancy and wasnt able to work out throughout,,,is this ganna make getting back in shape impossible? i have my csection in a week and also have 2 kids already a 4 year old and a 1 year old!

  • thanks! thats sweet!:))

  • i had c section with my last one with 5 kids at home and 7 preg behide me. yeah that aint working with the go for a walk thing! pain is not my issue I did walk with in 4 hour of my c-section i felt fine. I was in the hopstial for 8 days with swealling and other issue then came home went into trying to just walk and do lil things. Ended up healthy wrong and now they have to cut me again (not preg) so i can heal the right way. wonderful. I think everyone is diferent

  • You look great for 20 days after! I'm amazed! I'm only 21 having my second child/second cesarean and I hope I look as good as you! Deffinately going to be exerciseing more this time around!

  • I do confirm the sooner you get out of bed, the faster you recover from c section, a week later I was riding a bike :)

  • I did same thing and after 2 week i'm 90 % fit.

  • Thanks for the information.. I'm going to be a first time mommy.. I'm set to have my C-section this Friday (April 30th 2010) I'm scared because I don't like surgery... Your video gave me relief and I wanted to thank you.

  • that was really helpful...

am having a planned c section in 5 days and am terrified by how my stomach will look like after!!!

now seeing ur stomach look very nice.. am more optimistic:)

  • GREAT! Thanks, you look awesome, I am having a planned C Section in 14days! I want to be an attractive (happy and peaceful) mom, not a sloppy dresser w/o any care for myself, this is my first baby but not my first surgery so I agree! I also know doing too much at first (say more than you were before the birth) can cause you to damage your insides and land you back in the hospital, so GENTAL Daily Exercising is the KEY to healthy repaired abdominals.

  • Thank you for posting this. My doctor said that i'd be having a c-section instead of a vaginal birth. I love to work out and get my body moving, so this did help a lot. Thank you....

  • you can do it, just keep focus and remember it is all about you. If us moms don't take care of ourselves, we can't take care of our babies!

  • golantr-so glad to hear the wifey is doing well. That first month was OVERWHELMING for my husband and I, should be a little smoother sailing for you guys now. My husband was dying as well seeing me in pain, he couldn't handle it. Take care, and don't forget to help your wife start a baby journal, you'd be surprised how fast the time goes by!

  • My wife had a c-section about 16 days ago. She is still in a lot of pain but not across the entire incision. Just on the right side of the incision. It hurts so much that she can't sit up while holding the baby, she has to put the baby down to sit up. Is this normal? There is no redness or swelling around the incision. It looks fine from the outside - my concern is that she is hurt on the inside. Is it normal to hurt this much this far in?

  • again-I'm not a doctor, but YES ON THE REAL a c-section hurts afterwards! I remember having to ask my husband for help sitting up, holding the baby, and getting out of bed! As far as it "feeling like" it hurts on the inside, well it kind of feels like that. Just make sure your wife doesn't have any sudden movements, go slow, and make sure she goes to her follow up apt. with the doctor so he can check those incisions-keep em' clean too! take care

  • It is a policy here that after c-section, the mother have to have physiotherapy treatment, just like a prophylaxis to prevent any complications. But i find it useless, do you really think PT treatment is beneficial to the mother or just teaching the mother is better after delivery?

  • Hey, thanks so much for the response. It's 5 weeks now and my wife is doing MUCH better. She's still in pain but it's not nearly as bad as it was before. I think we're in the clear. It was really depressing seeing my wife in so much pain and not being able to help. But we've weathered the storm so to speak and we're looking forward to all the fun stuff the baby has in store for us.

  • Oh I completely understand that! I had a very short patience tolerance with my husband. I believe it is the surge of INTENSE hormones that come along with that MAJOR body change after you start breast feeding. This time you can be prepared for the sudden mood change-in other words have your "happy" stuff at your bedside (i.e. icecream, a good book, dvd's that make you happy, etc.)....good luck all my love!

  • hi there, i have just watched your video you boost a person personality you pump there spirit its brilliant, i hope you could help me i have had 3 c sections i was way to scared to exercise soon after so i left it my stomach is massive, my last section was 10 months ago about a month ago i started to loose weight and ab exersices but my section itches so badly that i rippet my scar and got all infected, know i cant do anything waiting for it to heal so i thought see if you could help me plz

  • I'm not a docotor so see a dermatologist so that the scar doesn't get infected! You need OBGYN permission to start exercising again! Light non impact exercises like water aerobics might work for you, But until you consult your OBGYN whether or not you can risk bothering that scar tissue again, I am not sure what to tell you other than work on your psychological well being. In other words....read some motivating books that make you happy or sit on the beach and meditate! all my love...

  • i had three c-sections my last one was three years ago. my belly is very big after the last c-section and i hurt so much on the left side inside my belly, why is my belly still soo big i look like i'm 7 months pregnant...

  • thanks for response! :)

  • my response is that you ALWAYS want to consult with your OBGYN and most of them will NOT recommend running until you wait at least 8 weeks. I'm not saying that I did. I was walking within the first week, and running by the third week. I think the most important thing is to listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard too fast. Take a look at the skin surrounding your c-section scar, make sure it is healing properly. It will be uncomfortable in the beginning, but well worth it!

  • another question similar to the one just asked...I know I can't do any ab excercises yet, but can I do any leg and butt excersizes?

  • TALK TO YOUR OBGYN-actually talk to like 3 because they MIGHT have different responses to that question.....but anything that will irritate or threaten the scar I believe is not right. Listen to your body. I went really slow.....but I do remember doing some minimal squats and slow paced walking.

  • Hi,i had c section 4weeks ago, everything is ok,i just wanna ask when can i start with running again,or which aerobic exercise can i do instead?thanks for answer and for this video :))

  • thank u for this video !!!! I had an emergency c-section five days ago and the recovery really sucks right now for me, Luckily, health baby and NO stretch marks, but the pain really sucks. thanks again!!!

  • oh I'm so glad it helped....be careful getting out of bed-roll to your side and push yourself up elbow to hand-and get yourself a good pillow to prop yourself up when you are watching TV! take care

  • she has a lazy eye...or cross eyed its loo vutr and the bby shes so precious

  • yes I do have a lazy eye....lol

  • Thanks Becky-I'm sure you'll recover the same way if you exercised all the way through your pregnancy-the first three days of recovery after the C-section are crucial-so take care of yourself! Good luck I'm sure everything will work out wonderfully!

  • I truly appreciate your posting. It looks like we're the same age, exercised the same way, and both are having c-sections. I'm due for a breech c-section on 11.26.08. Your info was sooo helpful and encouraging. Congrats on a great recovery; you look fantastic!
