This is very very nice bike! I always wanted that Saxon model but it's quite rare in Finland. Hard to find good and cheap one. And they don't sell those twostrokes here anymore because on EU's new emission limits. Do you have same problem in Norway? How that little front fairing works? Does it help for against wind pressure in high speeds? How big is fuel tank? This might be good bike for touring. And I just love that kind of chain cover(same than Jawa 640). Greetings from Finland!
Hi, yes, Norway is also caught up with those stupid Eu regulations. My bike was one of the last to be registered after individual noise level test in April 2003. The fairing gives some protection, but not much. The tank is made of glass fibre and can contain 19L of petrol. The bike is superb for touring!
Yep in here that EU emission limit came also 2003. For example last Jawa 350 models came here in 2003. :( It's for all EU countries. But Norway isn't in EU. Why there is also that stupid limits? That EU makes vehicle hobby very difficult. Btw how much there cost 95E petrol? Here it's over 1,6€ in some places! I think that it's too hard to find good 301 Saxon here. Maby I end up to buy Jawa 640 again. Just need to keep looking. Is it also rare bike in Norway? Have a good midsummer!
Thank God we're not in EU, but our stupid politicians believe we should be even if the people said no. MZ is very rare in my country. the petrol here is in norwegian kroner around 13 per liter, that would be the same as in Finland I guess. Anyway, my mz is now sold.
Yeah thats really so. Joining to EU is one of the biggest mistake in finnish history. There comes so much unbelievable stupid limits and directives. But we just have to accept it. And diesel fuel price is almost same as gasoline, but goverment don't even ease diesel tax. :( Only I can say is PERKELE! MZ is also very rare here. Only place where can see those is oldtimer meetings. Same thing with Jawas. Only over 600cc japanese bike can see on the streets....
I have the same one and the same color

Superb motor, reliable, smooth and easy to maintain, and with very few faults, if any. That engine began its design back in about 1969.
Easy on fuel, at about 4 litres/100 km, that's about 70 mpg (UK).
I've got the MZ 301, from the Zschopau factory.
It's a damn good motorcycle.
