  • life sux,get used to it because there is no cure...

  • ET.... Entertainment Tonight?

  • My ET makes it harder for me to mastrabate effectively

  • People I also have ET and im seeing alot of comments like:

"shame because that person is going to ask me whats wrong with me"

"shame because some people ask me if im nervous"

"shame because some people ask medo you have parkinson?"

The most important thing is to tell people that you have ET !!! Dont stay quiet or low your head down in shame! explain them! and people will understand! Its still hard but its much better for you when you explain them!

  • i have et too, also both hands....

still its only sometimes disturbing me because there are also better and worse moments...

my doc wanted to try natural medication and autogenous training first

  • Sometimes it is easy to get out there but there are bad days, doc gave me Propranalol and couple other meds helps some but still embarising,

  • I am suffering from ET since I was born. Tut it have become worser with the years and I don't have a work to be afraid of to go to.. But I am afraid of getting one etc, many things in life is so change because of ET really, many things you can't do.

  • I have essential tremors in both my hands.

  • i have hand tremors too. left and right hand. my classmates always asking me, if im nervous bcos my hands were always shaking. i told them, i am not nervous. its just, this hand..i duno. bdw, im 15 y/o...

  • yah, I don't have it real bad but it HAS gotten worse over the last few years to the point where I can't weld anymore. I used to be able to weld fine in certain positions and figure out how to get by on jobs where I had to reach out to weld. I had to quit. trying to get back into truck driving, but there's reasons why they won't hire me for that too. good luck to you.

  • I've also been suffering from ET since I was born. I hate it when people keep asking why I'm shaking. Right now I am not able to do my First Aid class which I need for my drivers license beacuse everyone has to get to the front of the class and do rescue breathing. I'm already looking forward to my head being all shaky and everyone starring. This really, really sucks.

But as a good advice, DON'T SMOKE it's the worst thing you can do when having ET.

Everybody who has ET: Keep on fighting

  • I have ET, the head shaking can be rather akward but it doesn't limit you that much, you can't be a great artist and playing guitar well is very difficult. But I can't imagine it limiting any other career options.

  • Yes I have great fear of going to work and on trains incase I might twitch. I find going on rawfood (green smoothies) takes it away.

    xx ;)

  • I have developed this over the past three months, mainly in my right hand, can anyone please offer any advice as I am struggling to come to terms with it at present

  • My advice to you quaser is to not develop a passion for any musical insturment, or art for that matter, hand tremors are horrible I need to find a way to stop mine so I can get to playing guitar again.

  • Yeah. Piano is becoming difficult with my ET. It's just starting to progress and become harder to do daily things. Others are starting to notice it too. Chemistry labs become pretty difficult.

  • I kno exactly how this feels....absolutely horrible (btw i was put on medication as well and its been a lot better)

  • i have had et since i was born and have been put on drugs that have singnficantly helped. hard thing to live with tho

  • I heard doing Yoga can cure it but im not sure

  • put yourself out there and u get over it? been dealing with this &^@&^@ piece of SHIT disease for 25 years, head constantly and random internal and right arm/hand tremors. age 17 till now, 42. doesn't matter what age the person not aflicted is. 4-400 years old.. i still get terrible societal comments n treatment cuz of it. Still live with mommy n daddy! pathetic! why, cuz no 1 gives a shaky person a career. It has ruined my life N quality of life. Many things i want to B & cant because of it.

  • you don't get over it even when u try because societal assholes constantly remind u of it. people look at u like u are weak and vulnerable. r u cold? r u on drugs? r u an alcholic? r u nervous? people with parkinson's dont even come close to enduring what Et'ers do. this is the most effed up thing to live, i mean SUFFER with.

  • I know how you feel man.... But even implying that people with Parkinson have it easier than us with ET is very untrue.

  • not saying those with PD have it easier, perhaps not in a physical sense (and even then, I have seen and know some with pd who dont have the physical struggles like those w/et and dystonia). it is the societal reactions. pd is recognizable, most dont know what et, dystonia etc is. most awareness/research (about 95%) goes into pd. the societal verbal abuse i have gotten for the past 25 years has been sickening and makes one very isolated. that's what i am getting at.

  • That's sad, too think that no one will give you a career just because of that, I have felt crippled from playing guitar due to my hand tremors, but too think No one would give me a future, that's just messed up.

  • thanks and to think someone gave me a thumbs down on my comment for telling the truth.. even those with this disease are jerk off assholes. my degree in criminology is useless, no one will hire me after the effort i gave in my studies and applying in the field, i tried for 11 years and to sit in front of people shaking all over sucks.

  • Mine is getting worse. I manage a cafe and sometimes have to make coffee drinks and things spill sometimes if it's a particularly bad day.

  • For info, check out the IETF site. We're all in this together...power to the people...shake with passion for your convictions...give voice to your thoughts, no matter how weak the actual sound. We are important. Rita

  • I have Essential Tremor and there is nothing "benign" about it. In fact the word "benign" has been dropped from the name. I had Deep Brain Stimulation done 9/05 and am 95% tremor free now.

  • Yeah I have a benign essential tremor. It doesn't affect me much though... I occasionally hit the wrong keyboard key and it shows through my handwriting, but other than that I am not affected too much. Confidence can be a problem sometimes, but not too much nowadays. Just put yourself out there and you get over it.

  • it depends how bad you have it, some ppl will find it a lot harder to get over it than ppl who only have it mild
