I don't understand this product. Its not "wireless" at all. It has a chord (needs electricity). You have to attach all this crap and if you want the "universal chord" you need all the different adapters, etc... All in all it costs you a shit load of money for something that is completely unnecessary. Just get a three way splitter and save yourself money.. this is just a product for the "cool" factor..

Yes it's a "stylish and new way" to charge your devices but it's totally not practical at all. Firstly, iphones/ipods can't sync with itunes. Secondly, you need proprietary cases for all your devices. And for the devices that aren't supported, you need the powercube, which is just another wire, which defeats the purpose. Thirdly, I like being able to 'use' my devices while they are charging. The powermat makes this difficult. Fourthly, it's expensive.

But big problems exist with this item. They are, namely:

ALL devices require their own receiver, purchased separately, $40 each (approx) Grrrrr!;

Instructions for device charging are so cryptic, many consumers are having to call in for support;

not ALL devices are compatible, perhaps half of those commonly purchased;

Each device must sit inside its receiver case and MUST SIT ON TOP OF THE MAT and charge through magnetized connection;

I returned mine to BestBuy. Buyer beware!

If u have a phone and an ipod (like me) and u want to charge them at the same time just go out and look for a surge protector that has both AC and USB ports in it i got a belkin but phillips makes them too. they're only $20 and one of the mats and 2 adapters is like $200-$250... i personally think its a good idea but too much $

The fact that this can be done and if it gains popularity will motivate other companies to implement this as well. It's the same method used for things like Sonicare toothbrushes. You have a strong electromagnet (the base) induce a current in another coil via mutual inductance (the adapter) the current in the second coil is then drawn through the devices battery causing it to recharge. I don't know all of the messy details but it's usually something to that effect.
