The 2009 bike has some changes , colour options ,upgrades on the suspension and a tighter fitting front fender . I have always liked sportsters over other HD models ,they are just COOL bikes ....

I looked around and you can do some crazy stuff with this bike. 90 hp is achievable with a 1200 bore kit, cams, carbs, exhaust, etc. Then there are turbos and superchargers.

I have a Suzuki C50 with 53 hp and it is enough for me.

Oh, but I'd love to try one of these (unencumbered), and compare it next to my 1200.

Apparently, the 883's rev higher...and THAT'S the mystery part of it. Anyone out there with some figures????

Which isn't very high. But you're not buying a Harley for 100 horsepower 0-60. You're buying a harley for... well... because. Awesome bike. I love the R's.

Exactly. If I wanted loads of HP I would have baught a jap sports bike (which i would never do). I baught a Harley cause... you know, there's nothing like a Harley, the vtwin rumbling, the feeling, its awesome look... and a lot more things I just couldn't explain.

But, although HP is not high at all, torque is very decent, and torque gives you the feel of power. I love the low revolutions power of this bike.

Oh, for God's sake...get it dynojetted and fit Screamin' Eagles or some other such open pipes....you won't believe the difference!!!! I have a 1200R, and the performance afterwards.....MUCH nicer!
