Yeah, the three Final Fantasy Legend games on the Gameboy are the start of the SaGa series (which currently has nine games spanning different systems). Also, Square developed the games and published them in 1993. However, the North American re-release of the three games in 1998 was published by Sunsoft.
Anyways, when the Gameboy SaGa games were released in North American, Square changed their names to Final Fantasy Legend to presumably to boost sales on the strength of Final Fantasy's name.
