@Mrtheunnameable I used to be a fan of eminem, then I grew up. I realised he was shit and searched for better music. I came across Iron Maiden and explored the metal genre more and more, I usually find new metal bands I like daily, and have been doind so for years. Metalcore is ok, but it's not exactly genuine comparing to many other subgenres of heavy metal music (in a way, it also sounds quite close to mainstream material).
However, at least there isn't something called Popcore or Gangstacore yet, now THAT will be a problem if it springs to life.
@DiabolicHeart Popcore is a reality. And it's annoying. There are bands that take their pop punk music and blend it with hardcore in an attempt to reach out to wide audiences.

With every new band and song I more and more dislike finnish metal scene and finnish "MDM" specialy. They are sweet as a spoon of honey. Hey, wake up, it's metal, where the hell is the anger, hatered, all this negative stuff that metal music has to take from it's listener? Listen to Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquillity, that is an emotional music, not just melodic sweetness.

Metalcore is ok, but it's not exactly genuine comparing to many other subgenres of heavy metal music (in a way, it also sounds quite close to mainstream material).
However, at least there isn't something called Popcore or Gangstacore yet, now THAT will be a problem if it springs to life.

It's the same as comparing CoD:MW2 with World of Warcraft.. or comparing Shit and a Fork, because generaly you can put both things in your mouth... People are different, Music is different.. There's no right or wrong music. It all depends on what kind of music you like. Hating bands 'cause you don't like them is just gay and lame..

With every new band and song I more and more dislike finnish metal scene and finnish "MDM" specialy. They are sweet as a spoon of honey. Hey, wake up, it's metal, where the hell is the anger, hatered, all this negative stuff that metal music has to take from it's listener? Listen to Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquillity, that is an emotional music, not just melodic sweetness.

I really hate single-minded people when it comes to music. Why must we hate other types of music instead of liking it for what it is? Metalcore does not suck. It's just different. There is no real metal either. The musicians in the bands that you call "real" metal have a variety of influences from places you'd never expect and things you certainly not consider metal. Let's just appreciate music for what it is. Unless it's shitty ass pop or rap. That shit sucks.

@Yourmom3882 you have a point..but the thing about metalcore is that they are musically inferior..They usually lack impressive melodies, solos, atmospheres, drumming, and similar aspects of a metal band. They focus on senseless chord beating,their concepts are immature and usually consist of blind hate or violence. Vocals sink into the suckiness of the rest of the band. They DO deliver musical satisfaction, but in the same ways of Lady Gaga... without effort to complexity, thus without beauty.

@Boooby He's not ignorant at all. He gave a very in depth reason why rap isn't music. Rap consists of rhythm but lacks melody and tonal variations consisting of modes such as dorian, mixolydian, etc... Does not consist of certain elements that makes music "music." He described rap as an evolved form of poetry. If you ever heard of "spoken word poetry," rap is a variation of that. There are no tritones, leading tones, or use of and scales or triads or chords. we don't consider rap to be music.

Maybe in some circles it can be considered ability to write poetry. However, although it has meter and a little rhyming scheme, the lyrics lack any substance. They don't fucking mean anything! You say there is nothing meaningful in rap? That's probably because you have only heard Lil' Wayne, 50 cent and that kind of bitch rap. I can tell you there are a lot of great rappers out there who write great lyrics: Canibus, Rugged Man, Rakim, Kool G Rap and many others. Anyway, for now, let's just enjoy this song.
