  • bands of today suck piles against these guys and many of their contemporaries, in the studio and ESPECIALLY live....why can't bands today sound like this live?!?!

  • One of my favorite kick ass deppard songs.

  • LOVE this song!!!

  • What year is this from? 90?

  • @BrianM1 it's the adrenalize tour, so it must be 1992 or 93. high 'n dry album! This is the def leppard i like!

  • I think the most laudable trait of this band is sticking with the drummer after he lost his arm. That in my eyes in simply incredible

  • Rock of ages, still rolling 'til these days.

  • I think this is the time period where Joe looked the best!!! Ahh, those abs!

  • Great footage and sound

  • @blamecanada123456789 i agree love the intro and outro lead guitar. of course Steve sounds better than Vivian anyday.

  • There best stuff by far!!!!! Off the coolest badass record they ever made!!

  • @rpowarz rick allen sounds amazing for sure// this is maybe 1993...he is 10x's better now, 17 years later...unbelievable!

  • TheTodd1977,you are ridiculous..

  • awesome.......

  • i was there! that was a HOT day haa

  • DEF LEPPARD 4LIFE !

  • I didnt know Michael Bolton sung with Def Leppard!

  • who??

  • It's a joke man!! Some has-been from the '80's with similar mullet!

  • @TheTodd1977 not Bolton thats Vivian Campbell who replaced Steve Clark

  • @brianintn it was a joke dude!!

  • @TheTodd1977 oh sorry man.

  • @brianintn no probs... Cool tune huh??

  • @TheTodd1977 very much so but i prefer the album version and it sucks that Steve is gone, he could hit that opening guitar lick like no other.

  • @TheTodd1977 oh yeah, i think you're talking about Vivian Campbell? pretty good, yes receding hairline look a bit alike after a few tokes

  • Amazing solo.. ( 3.34)

  • awesome...XD

  • vivian sux ?? r u stupid or what ,pete good but he fucked up and got fired ,vivan is way way better than pete .

  • Would you eat one of Vivian's turds?

  • no i think u do

  • and both of them are not has good has steve clark the riff master

  • I agree! Viv Campbell is no leppard. Never was, never will be.

  • i'm sure he's nice guy and all though yeah!......

  • ok... viv, and steve are both good... and i agree tht viv will never be steve.. but they are totally different guitarists.. steve was a soul player, viv is more technical...

  • its cool hearing this with the melodic guitar sound they had during the adrenalize era

  • It still does it... This song still evokes grim memories of a saga going back 17 years...

    Involving automobile homicide.

  • Woaaaaaaaaaaaah 0:44 i luv it :)

    The best song ever! 5*

  • one of best songs! reminds little bit dio... i dont know why.

  • LOVE IT!!!! & Joe!! ; )

  • where did you get this def leppard concert dvd from

  • a rare collector, r u interested?

  • Yeah i am interested, its awesome

  • You can get it from Amazon. It's part of the 'Visualize' dvd. I got mine for about £10. It's really good. You get extra live footage and stuff.

  • Thanks but i thought the Visualize dvd only had a certain amount of songs. This one isnt on there and neither is Hysteria

  • Comment removed

  • Viv campbell looks like a total Spaz

  • haha yeah Virginia Beach shirt ???

  • Virginia Tech....

  • Nobody like Rick Allen.

  • Damn I'm shocked. This was a wake up call for me...I thought Leppard forgot how to rock when Steve Clarke passed away. That's what you get for only paying attention to the radio/MTV I guess. Sure, it's an older chestnut, but they're still rocking it.

  • listen to the double beats at 1:35-1:37 SICK

  • Rick is THEEE BEST drummer around.

That is pretty dang sick at 1:35 !!!

    I love it.

  • Back in August of '92, my uncle got ran down on a highway outside of Phoenix, and my mom was understandably devastated.

Fast forward a few months to my birthday... I get a High 'N Dry tape, and as soon as I see this track, I had to hide it away or it'd set her off crying... Man, hard times ;(

A few months later, this tour came to town. She wanted to go, but I had this feeling that by some coincidence they would play this, so I talked her out of going... CLOSE CALL!

    What a pitiful saga, eh?

  • Is this the full concert at Sheffield Stadium? This song is not in Videoarchive DVD.

  • yup. full concert

  • The best song off of High N Dry in my humble opinion!!!

  • I was actually at this gig at Don Valley after going to Metallica in Milton Keynes the day before (and I didn't have a car then either) Best weekend of my life, and you can actually see me in the crowd in the Metallica t-shirt at about 4:42. The Lepps fucking rocked that day, and Thunder weren't bad either!!!!

  • Why wasn't this on Visualize??? It's awesome!

  • idk, they should had released the whole concert. Even armageddon it at this concert has a bigger opening to it than what the one on visualize did. It opens with the song black betty.

  • assholes!

  • Of course something is easy to play if you didn't come up with it. I like when people say a song is easy to play. Of course it is to you, because it has already been written. Lets see those who say a guitar part is easy come up with their own "easy" parts. It's always easy to play somebody else's work.

  • Thats exactly why I don't/can't talk down to any professional musician. My teacher used to always pick on C.C. Deville of Poison for being horrible, but the thing is, that guy wrote amazing simple riffs that people enjoy and he made crowds go nuts.

If you can play music and make hundreds of thousands of people scream, thats what makes a good entertainer, and thats what it's all about. Entertaining.

  • i agree 100%

  • lol my teacher does 2 haha.

  • I agree, C.C. is know Clapton or EVH but he rocks. The Nothin' But a Good Time and Talk Dirty riffs are so catchy. I saw Poison about a month ago and they rocked. The crowd loved C.C. and he loved the crowd.

  • Yeah Poison can still play 20,000 seat Arenas! It sounds like C.C. has sobered up over the last few yrs.

  • Yeah C.C. played Eruption and he rock it out.

  • No Kidding!

  • boy this is a really good performance.I Like this song.

  • this is the dvd I'm sending you. Its rare

  • Awesome, Def Leppard at its best.

  • Oh and for the record a pick slide is NOT more complicated than an over the neck trill bend like Steve plays. Funny how your whole attitude changed after I knew what I was talking about. Hahahahaha

  • For the record, if Vivian is well known as a professional guitarist to people like Dio ect, and he gets payed millions, he's probably way better than you will ever be.

And I'm sure he knows how to do both a pick slide and an over the neck trill bend, the mans been playing guitar for more than 20 fuckin years. It really doesn't make a big difference, Steve was good, Vivian ain't bad either. He's done a damn good job filling in for a guitar legend, you should respect that.

  • Who are you to tell me who I should respect? Steve was excellent and I'm no Vivian fan.

  • You have the right not be a fan of Vivian, and all I'm saying is if you can't do any better, then you shouldn't criticize. Vivian is Def Leppard's new guitarist and he does his best to mimic Steve's work and maybe even put a bit of his own taste in the music. If that makes you any less of a Def Leppard fan, then you got problems.

Someone had to replace Steve Clark, he ain't comin' back. Get over it, Vivian with Def Leppard is still Def Leppard and they rule.

  • I agree

  • if Steve parts are so easy why doesn't he play it the same way? You really are an idiot huh? Never claimed to be someone famous. Joe had said recently in a interview about the new album that Vivian plays Steve parts NOTE for NOTE. and if he Vivian is so good why does DIO HATE HIM and he has been fired from every band he's been in? the opinions I have gotten are from a PROFESSIONAL guitar player tell me do you play because he just told me you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • it would be nice if Vivian could ACTUALLY play this song. May I suggest listening to Steve's solo you know the guy thatcould REALLY play this song.

  • Yeah Vivian does play the song, a better solo than Steve i might say !!!

Viv's a better guitarist than Steve was, get over it. You ever take the time to research viv and look at his Dio live stuff?

looks like you just can't get out of the past. Steve fucked up, now he's dead. Get over it.

  • Yeah right Viv sucks and always will. Ok you can stay in YOUR fantasy land. Hahaha I just think you're pathetic.

  • yeah viv sucks, shows how much you know about guitar playing.

keep living in your DEAD steve clark land.

  • Well moron The whole highlight of that solo is the over the neck trill bend into the solo and all Viv did was a cheap pick slide. So if he can't even play the part right he is no good guitarist. Dick

  • and I'll be more than happy to enjoy my Steve Clark land the music is better there. Enjoy your band The HAS BEENS. Their time has come and gone. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • oh yes figures you haven't done your research. Viv does that bit now on this song live. Their different guitar players and have different interprations of solo's, viv isn't not going to play everything note for note everytime.

Yeah Leppard are has beens.....and you are who?

Oh and guess what, Vivian admits that Steve's parts are very easy and he has had to tone down his guitar chops in leppard. The version that viv plays here is more complicated than the one on the album. That's fact.

  • Brings back memories of banging my head in Seattle in the early 80s. "High and Dry" with Pete Willis is Leppards best. Boy, this album, Saxon's "Wheels of Steel", Krokus, Scorps, Maiden? Brings back memories. Thanks for sharing.

  • I wish I'd been there!! ;P

I've always loved this live version so much!!

    It rocks!! ;D

    ;D

  • cool. I didn't think there existed a dvd the whole show. I've got the songs that are on video archive, and this one is not on there. god he's got the whole stadium going to a song off high n' dry!!! amazing. thanx for uploading.

  • fatscott, you must've seen a different show.

They played Another Hit and Run, Wasted, Switch 625 and Mirror Mirror(look into my eyes) they sounded AMAZING. I don't get what the fuck your talking.

Oh and on their new upcoming album is the heaviest song they've ever recorded. Heard it last night, it's called 'Go'. Metallica meets Rob Zombie meets Nine inch nails meets pyro era leppard. Not kidding

  • The new album rocks pretty damn hard. Its number 5 on the billboard top 200 and number one on the Rock and Hard Rock charts.

  • Yeah and you wouldn't know amazing if it bit you in the ass. Their new album sucks and they only rocked with Steve Clark. The Lepps suck. Now they sound like a boy band oh yeah they rock hahahahaha

  • Def Leppard do not play any of their best songs anymore. They just play the 'vagina monologue' music they have put out since High and Dry. Pete Willis gave this band a sack. I saw them on their last tour, and it was very sad. They all need testosterone shots, ASAP.

  • joe is so fit right then!!! he looks a lot better then than he ever has!!!! ow ow
