  • nice

  • did you have to drill and tap the barrel to put the mount on there? and where did you find the mount?

  • @MAF72511 Believe it or not you can JB weld that ATI scope mount on their. I sanded the underside of the mount, and wire brushed the blue off of the top of the receiver, clamped it over night and so far it has survived 200rnds and a treck through the woods.

  • okay i got a ?, im thinking about buying the mosin nagant, but where can i find a cheap scope and mount for under 100 dollars. just something cheap, what brand and size do i need to fit on the mosin?

  • @kk40384, first off, your just a dumb ass who dosent know how to switch a stock. I have the same one and it works perfect. Second off, your mom bought him that scope. :)

  • You don't have to take off the front sight to get those rings off. There's a thing on the rings that looks kinda like a hinge but is really a place to separate one end. It is pretty hard to Pull apart though.

  • welding wise is it aluminum?

  • Nice scope for the money. How did it hold up. I've heard of the massive shock wave of the Mosin Nagant blowing out a Leupold scope. Apparently there is a huge amount of counter clockwise twist which will twist the scope and those aluminum mounts that bolt onto the old sight mount (like the mounts on ebay. I see no problem with totally destroying a $100 gun. For the price buy three if you want to keep one original. lol good job.

  • I just shot mine yesterday for the first time. I am blown away with the accuracy with open sites. I cannot wait to do these things to mine...gonna be my new hunting rifle.

  • @NatePlaysMM if you hunt with it you have to buy modern rounds. They're about $4 each. Dont get caught hunting with surplus ammo. lol

  • love the hexed receiver man ance againd thanks for saying something about the safety because i just bought my m91/30 and had no clue it had a saftey so thanks on

  • A couple of problems you're gonna have right off the bat are the stock and the scope. That stock is junk. There's quite a bit if variation between all the mosin nagant models yet that stock fits all of them. I bought one and after properly tightening the action screws, the action still wobbled in the stock. That's a huge no no for accuracy. And that airsoft grade scope will not hold a zero if dropped from 6" off the ground, much less from the recoil that 7.62x54R can generate. Fix those 2 and y

  • @MrRampro Hey amigo, what diameter is that scope body? I have a Bushnell Legend series on my M91/30, but I am considering changing the ATI setup to the original style mount. I think the NOS style will accept a 1" scope body.

  • how well did your action and barrel fit into the ATI stock?..did you have to do any trimming with a dremel/sandpaper/file?

  • ughhh.... the only thing I hate is the scope rings.

  • Thanks for the help, let me return the favor, Mosin 'Nagant' is pronounced "Nuh-Gahn". not "Nuh-gant". In Russian the 't' is silent.

  • Hwow do you get the mag to load from the top?..... I put mine in the ati stock and I can't load from the top I have to drop the floor plate and load that way and I've ground the stock down?

  • U invested in shit

  • I wana good modern scope for my mosin but I wanna keep the original stock, its like holding a piece of history.

  • Big 5 sporting goods 139.00

  • In my opinion, the modified rifle looks like dump. I like my unmodified Mosin. Sure, a few bits and quick little mods work, but removing the wood furniture and slapping synthetic stuff all over it made me cringe.

To each his own, though, and I'm not gonna flame you for modifying your rifle.

  • Hey, I just found this Mosin-Nagant M91/30 "Sniper Rifle" on impact guns. It's price tag was about $500 and I was thinking that's a bit steep for a mosin nagant, but apparently the sniper variant is more rare[?] and was produced in a much smaller number than the infantry version. This so called "Sniper Variant" comes with a scope already mounted on and with an angled bolt... What I want to know is- am I being ripped of or is it ACTUALLY rare?

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n I know the sniper version of the 91/30 is more "rare" but I think 500 is a bit steep. They have them for close to 500 at a local gun store here. If you have a cheap place to get the transfer done you should be ok. I like the bent bolt handle better but am not sure how great the scope will be on the sniper version.

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n they run 399-499 with the PU sniper scope. its actually got a decent BDC which for the mosin round is going to be hard/impossible to find. the scopes themselves are 250-350 on fleabay or other auction sites.

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n It's probably one of the PU scopes, which is one of the scopes they used in WWII. that scope is freaking expensive, and probably explains the pricetag. Hey, I saw one for 800 bucks at the place I got my normal M91/30 at. I saw it on the wall, and asked how much it was... the guy just said "800". I was so shocked actually asked "...bucks?". Yeah. The PU scope is good, but it's primitive. I'd get a standard rifle, and mount your own scope. That's what I'm doing.

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n The snipers you see online are usually fake, and yes, I mean fake. They put them together with the intent to deceive you. What the do is they grab any random Mosin that is in decent condition and dress it up as a sniper. Everything on it is reproduction.

You can make one yourself for about the same price, and the upshot is you can use what ever mosin you want. You don't have to take a shot in the dark and hope you get one that is accurate and runs well.

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n the scope if orignal on a mosin nagant sniper is worth between 440-560 if in good shape

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n the ones on impact guns are reproduction snipers they are just regular mosins with modern production scopes and bolts, and a real sniper would be closer to and even over a grand

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n if an original mosin sniper is 500 you know you're being ripped off because there mostly all 7 to 800 dollars hell a mosin nagant ex sniper is 500 dollars itself without the scope and bent bolt

  • @LamborghiniRevent0n but for a reproduction no that is an even price but they will not be that most accurate mosins

  • I dont give a shit what they look like, they will work as long as your hand is capable of turning the bolt.

  • Seems like alot to spend on an $80 surplus rifle but it is pretty cool

  • Dammm just seems like so much trouble to have a ugly modern style rifle.

I see no benefit in it "looks" wise. I love the way they look originaly with the timber, Very WAR LIKE weapon , now looks like just a plastic ugly thing made in taiwan.

I think if u get the reproduction mosin nagant SNIPER version set up is one of the wikedest looking thing around.

  • Looks like it would be tricky to load from the top. Can you still get rounds in there, or do you have to load them from the bottom?

  • Take those high rings off of there and get some 1" Medium "extension" (length-wise) rings that will lower your head to the stock and stabilize the scope better.

Don't want to say your group size? 3 MOA? That is typical and 5-8 MOA with the carbine.

Yes. A perfect gun to hand down. They were $49.00 at one point and in ten years they will be probably $100 more given future inflation.

There were more Nagants produced than any other military gun out there.

    Nice for a pig gun.

  • When I work on other people's rifles, I take off the ATI injection molded stocks and throw them away. The original is better, and the Walnut sporters available are much better.

I mill out scope mounts from Aluminum and drill and tap for them, or weld on steel and mill them on the action.

  • Also watch out with the back of the scope because it could bend the tube with ought propper support at the back of it (speaks from experience) was gutted, you might be able to get a reach back mount,

  • Rampro another benefit of smaller mounts is better for long range shooting with the tube being as close to rifle as possible. I like the monte Carlo stocks but old one has the sex factor :-p all the best with your mosin I love mine!

  • damn everybody has a mosin nagant makes me want one even more badly then i already do but i'm thinking about getting a ruger 10/22 first to keep ammo cost down but it's hard to do that when everyone else is having fun with their mosin

  • nice job with this mosin !!! But i think your scope mounts is a bit high ? D you really use the cheek rest at this height ?

  • @SuperChillaz yeah it is alittle high but i put my off hand under my cheek and on the stock to lock it in but you are right for fast reliable aquisition this isnt theup best set

  • @MrRampro your bolt look like an original bent-bolt, wich is nice. But how much space you got between the bolt rod and you scope, it look pretty close. I plan to buy a M/N soon with the rocksolid scope base but i'm asking myself if its worth the money to buy a factory bent bolt M/Nagant. Answer depend if i can put lower scope rings. If not i'm better to go custom bent bolt... What you think ?

  • what caliber is this?

  • @theswimer419 7.62x54r

  • Good video. I got my first M-N a month ago. I'm gonna get another sometime in the near future and try to do it up like yours. It looks quite nice.

  • very nice setup! and not expensive either! i just bought my first mosin the other day and now i wanna buy another one so i can sporterize it. i have seen a few that have been converted and they are pretty awesome =D

  • can you tell me where to get the stock pad i also don't care if anyone makes fun of me but if they do i'll just remind them that without an arm they can't shoot squat.

    dumbasses.

  • @xr78g

and you wont loose your arm from firing a gun correctly...

    dumb ass.

  • ben trying to find this scope, but i can't find it... I've found it on they're site, but as far as i can tell they wont sell it, anyone know of somewhere i could find one?

  • 8:37 Yea, it's high recoil, but it's a REALLY good truck gun.

  • do u think its a good idea to bend the bolt instead of drilling a new one

  • @jigglejack100 - Bending the stock 90 degree bolt wont work, due to how small it is, you have to get a new one, or get the ATI Bolt... That or weld.

  • can you mod the mag so its removable?

  • bipod thug style

  • i got mine for the apocalypse

  • Nice looking Mosin. Quick question, hows the scope holding up with both rings on the same part of the scope? Happy shooting!

  • so sweet my friend so sweet

  • Is is a pain in the ass loading the rounds with the scope rail in the way? Also how was it installing the mount, your rifle is exactly what I have in mind for mine. very nice.

  • Can I ask if you have a web to the person that bent your bolt?I would like to have one of mine done.

I like the look of your rifles.

  • @hamer0111 google mosin nagant Boltman

I believe this is the guy hope it helps thanks for watchin!

  • @MrRampro boltman did my mosin bent bolt. i seriously recommend him for any bolt work of that kind!

  • @hamer0111 kkk

used the hammer + vise = Here you go! Made in Russia and bent bolt hadle in USA (by hammer) kkk

  • You sound like Kenny Powers from Eastbound and Down haha. That's a compliment!

  • The rifle is now worth nothing. Yes they made millions but that one was 1 of 1, no two are alike. You ruined the history of the great rifle. I bet you payed $90-$120 on the rifle, now its only worth the parts.

Go to this website to learn what it was, and maybe you will change your mind, i hope.

    7.62x54r.net

  • @Izzy1943sniper The rifle is worth the enjoyment and pleasure he gets out of shooting it, who gives a shit if Bubba got to it? For some people the historical significance has no meaning, it's simply a cheap rifle. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  • @Izzy1943sniper you retard

    7.62x54r.net

  • @Izzy1943sniper he didnt ruin anything on the gun, its not like he cant just put the old stock and bolt back on, are you going to trip out about moderized ak47 or any other gun, the gun is still worth alot.

  • @TheGoodOlBoyzChannel he drilled and tapped the receiver to mount the scope and its probably not an original bent bolt so it was bent. He can put the original stock back on but he's going to have holes in the receiver and a modified bolt.

  • You ruined a great gun!!!!!

  • @Izzy1943sniper

    Not really

The rifle is now lighter, and more accurate.

These were made by the millions, nothing collectible about them

  • Tacticool your AR's. Leave the good old rifles for those of us who appreciate them for what they are. STOP Bubbarizing good rifles.

  • hey man if you are looking for the D ring setup for the safety i see a few on ebay listed for like $26

  • isnt that alot of leverage to have on the scope ?

  • The vids a bit old now. But fyi, keep an eye on the reticle illumination switch.

My scope has held up wonderfully on several different mosins. But the ri switch did come loose and nearly fall off. Open lid, remove the battery, and add locktite to screws.

  • shoulda got the ATI bolt too it fits the stock better

  • Sweet scope man!!

  • If you wanted to upgrade it even more so, you could get a timny drop in trigger..

  • Only idiots laugh at the pad. Men dont MIND hurting themselves, however SMART men will avoid it when not necessary and the idiots will welcome it. What kind of man are you?

Anyways, Awesome gun. How are you groupings and at what kind of ranges?

  • Tell us how it shoots!

  • what scope mount is that?

  • I bought a Mosin a while back and after seeing a couple of these videos I'm definitely thinking about getting another one and sporterizing it. They just look so cool.

  • what kind of recoil pad do you use?

  • You put surplus rounds through it?

If so how often you clean?

  • that is a nice scope

im going to try to buy one and nice gun i am just starting to add new things to my mosin

  • @alex6789101 its fun and on the cheaper side so thats good

  • I just bought a 91/30.Should I get this stock?

  • what if your in the feild and you break the scope

    spray and pray

  • @tyler1768 bring a second scope and mount

  • Hey, would you sell?

  • I have sporterized ~ a dozen 91/30s over the last 10 years.

I weld the bolt handle like that.

I make cantilevered Aluminum Weaver rails like that.

But I have given up on ATI stocks. The original Military stock will be more accurate.

  • @tnekkc

How would i free float the original stock with the top handguard in the way? Is it possible?

  • @jakashh The easiest thing for sporterizing a 91/30 type rifle is to; find a rifle with mint bore, get a Boyd's stock, glass bed it, drill and tap for the Advance Technology cantilevered scope mount [throw away their bolt], buy a welded bolt handle from Max Shepard or the Boltman, and buy a trigger from Timney.

The original stock is accurate, and can be altered by removing the hand guard, glassing, and pillar bedding.

  • @tnekkc Thank you, that was very helpful!

  • Very nice

  • If you would of had your bolt handle done by max_shepherd on ebay you would of had the choice of a ATI style bolt handle made just for the ATI scope mount. BTW he does excellent work.

  • Do you still need to pop the front side off even if you take the cleaning rod out?

  • If your asking about the front ring then yes. The ring won't fit around the front site post. Thanks for watching!
