BTW the alien is reinvented in every movie. and bad dialogue, give us an example unless you're just sucking up to the big boys who hated it. they have their own reasons for hating it outside of quality.

Granted Alien 3 (not Aliens 3 like he keeps saying, which is funny as he points out irrelevent details all the time) and Alien Ressurection were flawed but they were not as bad as he is saying. Also, we all know the 1st 2 films were great, and the 2nd 2 were not considered great, so why just repeat what everyone already knows? I feel the 2 reviewers on the left were much more centered and not just trying to hate.

I think the one guys reaction to Alien 3 is pretty exaggerated. The Assembly Cut is pretty damn good. Sure, its not as perfect as the first 2, but its damn good. It's a bleak, mean spirited film with a great performance by Weaver. Some of the CGI is weak, but the visuals and effects are great for the most part. The Assembly Cut adds more character and heart to the film. And of course he had to say "Oh they killed Newt and Hicks!"

I am not sure what is meant by the statement that the deleted caccoon scene in "Alien" pops up in "Aliens". If they're refering to Newt then it's not the same.

The "Alien" scene shows humans turning into eggs, while in "Aliens" it's just Newt held in place for the face-hugger. Cameron's movie changed the creature's life-cycle into an insect-like one.

Allen 3 is bad; Even looking back with rose tinted shades doesn't help - it's just a confused film. Resurrection is so bad, it's almost good. If you watch it as a sci-fi comedy, then it can be quite entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised at how good AVP was though - a good popcorn flick.

Alan Dean Foster is the novelist who adapted a lot of film screen plays. He ghost-wrote the first Star Wars film's book adaption, came up with the initial draft of the Star Trek TMP and did the first three Alien book adaptions among many others.

For me, one way that could work is if there are no humans, Just the Space Jockey civilization and the Aliens. Maybe the latter can destroy the former. Hmm?

But...that would mean no Ripley. And even though Sigourney Weaver has spent last decade distancing herself from that role, Fox and Ridley Scott might feel compelled to somehow include her in the prequel

i gotta say alien: resurrection has one very well acted scene though. and it's when Ripley finds these other 7 clones of her who were disfigured or crippled and then this one clone wants her to kill it.

i thought that was one of the better scenes in the movie.

Planet of the Vampires by Mario Bava was another big influence on Alien. A lot of the story is already there. Alien3 had some good ideas, but disspointed. The 4th is even worce. A bad comedy, well shot by Darius Khondji. Hated it so much I refused to buy the Alienbox. Just bought the first 3 seperatley. (Never saw 3 again, eventhough I got it) Scott himself was going to do a new one. Turns out hes producing and Carl Rinsch is directing. It will be a prequel; how trendy. Itll probably suck.

Aliens is my favorite outta the whole series, and the first Alien is my second favorite. Alien 3 wasn't that bad, just suffered from the bad script, as you guys said......and THANK YOU, EDWIN for mentioning Winona's performance (easily her worst performance)....

Thank you. I think this was a pretty good show for being an early one. I think AVP: Requiem has a couple of good moments, but is easily the worst shot movie I have ever seen. When I saw it in the theatre, I though the bulb on the projector was low. I later found out that wasn't the case.

Some movie series start good and go downhill (Superman) some alternate between good and bad (Star Trek) Some get better as they go along (Harry Potter) Some maintain their quality (LOTR) and some were just bad to begin with and should never have started in the first place (AvP). Just like the Superman films, after the first 2 Alien movies, they should have quit. Maybe sometime soon they will do a remake or a prequel, and then we can discuss these again.

Regarding Alien 3 you should check out the special features from the quadrilogy DVD. Which extensively shows Vincent Ward's original idea for the movie. This awesome futuristic middle evil, The Name of the Rose-ish setting. Not the industrial setting.

I agree I got it and it is a real piece of work. N#3 deserves much more credits. They really struggle to make something tangible with no real script. Plus the innovation made on that one are phenomenum for me, even fincher's vision is a way beyond cameron and probably equal to scott.
