  • It seems like back then, CEC and Showbiz were more family-oriented. The CEC in Northridge hasn't changed much since the '90s, but that's when they watered it down a little...

  • i work at a chuck e cheeses, and the other day we had a party for a 62 year old woman. XD she was such a run lady XD !

  • @sygo7g i agree. when i was young we were tought not to do the things kids get away with now. it's ridiculouse. i am just glad my grandma is not here to see that it has gotten worse since us. she did not like the change of the way people brought up their kids from her days she would defently hate it now.

  • In 1984 or 85 we lost our Showbiz due to bad management and loss of money. Many years later we got a Chuck E. Cheese that is still here. They don't take care of it letting kids hang on Jaspers arms so that they had to move them up. Kids stole the mics from Chuck E. and Helen, and drum sticks from the drummer. You can't hear the show unless there is a birthday. When it says "Makebelieve Band" They aint kidding.

  • @starrfisher uh no we lost shoqbiz in the 1990s lol

  • Anyone know what the song at 3:39 is called?

  • I thought they were the same place! Our Showbiz Pizza here in Ft. Smith, Ark changed it's name to chuck e cheese years ago. Same location same animatronic (spooky)characters. Same everything just a different sign.

  • I used to live in Saudi Arabia and they had a chuck e cheese there, and they really care about it, it was so large and huge, it had a skating rink, a bowling alley, and of course many games and video games it was great for all ages, they even had competitions in the summer and a prize "car" weekly, and they sometimes brought celebrities too! When I came to live in Canada this year, Chuck e cheese is so tight, and for kids of 1-7 only!

  • A Chuck E. Cheese in Saudi Arabia? Cool!

  • yea there are like 4 or 5 chuck e cheese outside Canada, one which is in Saudi Arabia, its still new, opened just 3-5 years ago! xD

  • Haha you mean outside of Canada AND U.S. ;)

    FK

  • yeah my bad lmao :P

  • Oh, I work at chuck e Cheese, and my manager showed me a picture of a chuck e cheese in Saudi Arabia. It was HUGE! and apparently, the pride and joy of CEC.

  • Showbiz looked sooooooo awesome. i wish I could've gone there.

  • LOl I love Chuck E Cheese and i'm 14. Me and my friends go there all the time :)

  • AAron Know how to bring good Shows to Life. When CEC took the Rock-Afire Explosion out of Showbiz/CEC it just wrong. Everyone loved a good bear hug. Everyone Do not liked the RAT! KIDS Cry more these days When they see a Rat walking in the Showroom they start Runing to Mommy just Crying. For Billy bob they loved them more....

  • @kennyrr Check out the documentary about the Rock a Fire Explosion. There was more to the story than that. I felt it was dirty business. Aaron said that they wanted the copyrights to the show and he would have no say in what they did. I can't blame him there.

  • Cool video I take Showbiz Oizza any Day

  • this is very interesting. i never went to a CEC until they replaced my beloved Showbiz, here in nashville. i remember loving the pizza at Showbiz, but apparently i just had bad taste as a kid, haha!

side note-- one of the few remaining Rock-Afire Explosion bands is here in nashville!!

  • furthermore showbiz pizza's production quality was quite superior to Chuck E. Cheese, from what I recall. Also the pizza sucked I think at both establishments.

  • Was anyone else weirded out by the story in the beginning about the man who photographs love between fathers and daughters. What the fuck was up with that?

  • Chuck-E-Cheese and Showbiz Pizza were so cool in the 80's. Anyone from age 1 to 18 could go there and have a pretty good time. Have you seen Chuck-E-Cheese lately??? It sux! My sister took me their with her kids and the whole place was geared towards BABIES! If you are over 6 years old the entire place is way too babyish! I saw a few 10 year olds looking bored out of their minds!

  • I wish Chuck E. Cheese would be more focused towards teens.

  • Me too.

  • Being an East Bay denizen, I made some interesting observations.

First of all, at this point in time there was (as you can tell by watching the clip) a Chuck E. Cheese's in Pleasanton and a Showbiz in Dublin. Now there's a CEC in Dublin (I think it opened in '94), and here's the kicker...it is literally across the street from where the Showbiz was in '83!!!

  • i heard theres only 1 showbiz pizza place dats still open. its sumwhere in west virginia i think

  • no if you mean the shows there are plenty more like 7 or something luckily there is one in Cali. But if you meant the restraunt its self then I dont think any are still open.

  • 1983 was a good years for gamesfood chuck e cheese show biz pizza and shadnia fun time cneter

  • What are those things at 1:13. And since when did they have clowns?

  • This was the "Clapper Board". It hung on the wall and clapped when you heard clapping. I'm not sure about the clowns :-(

  • Yeah, I kinda agree that Showbiz was aimed more towards teens and Chuck E Cheese was aimed more towards the kiddies. I recall having my birthday at Showbiz in 86(I was around 5), and most of the people around were teens. I recall Showbiz being more darker inside, with more focus on arcade games. On the other hand, Chuck E Cheese was more brighter, and all the Chuck E Cheeses I went to focused more on games like Skeeball, with few arcade games.

  • Cute story... Well, throughout my entire childhood, I went to a Chuck E. Cheese's... ONCE! The Pizza Time Players really scared the heck out of me! And you know what? I never went back since. If I have children myself, hopefully that fear will be conquered.

  • My hippie parents never took me to either. I got screwed!

  • Hahaha I know right...all 80's durrr!

  • he wrote on his hand. wow thats professional

  • Hahaha, They basically say that the food's crap at Showbiz though...I remember it being AS good as CEC though!

  • Interesting video! Odd to see how clunky the PTT looked compared to the RAE...

  • yea RAE actually looked ahead of its time

  • I know.

  • Hey, that was a great video comparing and contrasting Chuck E Cheese Pizza Time Theater to Showbiz Pizza. Great stuff!
