Mani Ratnam is an artist, right up there with SanjayLeelaBhansali. Raavan is an excellent film, Aish and Abhi are both fabulous actors, probably the most versatile actors in bollywood, Aishwarya more so than abhi. Indian critics are very misleading and onesided. Watch this movie and you will fall in love with it and the music is EXCELLENT!

I would be interested to see how younger audiences take to this film. You can find this one at kookicá. I remember when the original film premiered and even remember playing the arcade game which at the time was considered so futuristic in concept.

I watched this for free on kookíca. It depicts fictional and real story and is giving a valuable lesson on the mistakes of humankind. I think it will be loved by youngsters and adults. Dude - dont criticize other opinions. Rolling in the mud for 2 straight hours doesn't make it entertaining. People watch movies for the entertainment value of it and not for how it was took. People were clearly expecting better from Mani, and Abhishek can't act to be honest - thats why the Tamil version was a vast improvement. With the concept they chose, they really could've done something brilliant, instead it was just a slow flick with nothing worthy to take back home.

There was a stunt double that did the thrilling stunt for Abhishek and was paid for it. Abhishek didn't jumped 80 feet, but another person did that for him.
Satiash - I'm pretty sure you're misunderstanding. The bwood theme is what the morijity likes. DIfferent can sometimes be unaccepted and boring. Pretty sure pinimuva simply stating that as a majority the tamil genre/filmstyle for whatever great script is not appealing.
I am a malayali and am not a fan of both the actors. I saw both tamil and hindi and i felt that Vikram has done a better work. His perfomance in tamil version as veera is just mindblowing. Abhishek was also good but can't be compared to vikram.n there is nothing much to do in Dev's role. both prithviraj and vikram has done kinda same in tamil and hindi. prithviraj looks better as the cop thats all.

it is a very nice approach to see the Ravana from different point of view. But as Film, the "Raavan" has been made verry poorly. It has almost no screenplay. the story has no continuity. the wohle film is full of unnecessary action, violence and vulgar. I cant believe that it is a Mani Ratnam film, when i remember about Roja, Bombay, Dil se, Nayagan or Kannathil Mutthamittal. Anyway, Mani Ratnam should forget this film considering a nightmare.
Going to watch the movie in tamil again on monday...If you understand the movie you won't mind watching it even 10 times...I don't know how the hindi version is...May be next week i would also watch it...

Dude - dont criticize other opinions. Rolling in the mud for 2 straight hours doesn't make it entertaining. People watch movies for the entertainment value of it and not for how it was took. People were clearly expecting better from Mani, and Abhishek can't act to be honest - thats why the Tamil version was a vast improvement. With the concept they chose, they really could've done something brilliant, instead it was just a slow flick with nothing worthy to take back home.

I am a malayali and am not a fan of both the actors. I saw both tamil and hindi and i felt that Vikram has done a better work. His perfomance in tamil version as veera is just mindblowing. Abhishek was also good but can't be compared to vikram.n there is nothing much to do in Dev's role. both prithviraj and vikram has done kinda same in tamil and hindi. prithviraj looks better as the cop thats all.

it is a very nice approach to see the Ravana from different point of view. But as Film, the "Raavan" has been made verry poorly. It has almost no screenplay. the story has no continuity. the wohle film is full of unnecessary action, violence and vulgar. I cant believe that it is a Mani Ratnam film, when i remember about Roja, Bombay, Dil se, Nayagan or Kannathil Mutthamittal. Anyway, Mani Ratnam should forget this film considering a nightmare.
