Very excellent and inspiring performance! Superb singing, from the youngest to the oldest.Very good sound balance between the orchestra and the choir and obviously a camera tripod or support was used to keep a stable video image. Looks good at 1080p HD! Thank you for sharing.

@Philovideo ...and did you already watch the second video at this channel ? By the way: Andrea did not use a tripod. She had a seat in the first row and there was a table as a barrier before the row.

@Toelzerfanclever Yes I did. Another awesome performance of Anima Nostra by Michael Hydn! The soprano singers really come through! The acoustics inside the Fraumünster church sanctuary really sounds good and enhances the sound of the choir and orchestra with the reverberation. Ok on Andrea operating the camera. It gives the appearance that the camera is sitting right next to the conductor!

Nicht die Camcorder ist die Ursache, die Ursache ist den Dirigent. Das sollte Nicolaus Harnoncourt nicht passieren, er hat eine gute Bassist gedämpft, der zu dominant war in das Weihnachtsoratorium. Beim Polski Slovenski[Pölnische Nachtigalen] war auch der Bassist zu dominant beim Benedictus von Mozarts Requiem. bertusdejonge

@bertusdejonge Danke für diesen fundierten Kommentar ! Der richtige Name der Polnischen Nachtigallen lautete übrigens Polskie Slowiki. Es gibt auch einen channel PolskieSlowiki auf YouTube....:)

Alle vier Stimmlagen der Solisten wunderbar aufeinander abgestimmt. Auch wenn der Alt und Baß natürlicherweise etwas untergehen, unser Gehör ist nunmal auf die höheren Frequenzen ausgelegt. Auch der Rest vom Chor und das Orchester zeigen wirklich was sie können. Was mich nur wundert, dass der/die Kamerafraumann den Buben so dicht auf die Pelle rücken konnte, oder er/sie hat ein erstklassiges Teleobjektiv.

Richtig! Der Sopranist gefällt mir dabei am besten. - Der Altist hingegen geht in der Laustärke unter. - Schade! - Der Bassist ist zu dominant, das gesamte Orchester ebenso. - Die Ursache mag aber auch an der Aufnahmetechnik liegen. - Insgesamt  eine wertvolle Aufnahme. -

@zskfan100 Lieber einen Camcorder, als nichts! :-) Es sollte keine Kritik sein. - Bin immer dankbar, neue Aufnahmen zu hören. - Wusste nicht einal, dass es einen Züricher Knabenchor gibt! - Er darf sich wirklich outen, der Chor! - Immer wieder höchst interessant finde ich den Einsatz von Knabensolisten. - Diese Solisten hier machen einen guten Job. - *freu*

@tritonusgesang thank you for sharing this wonderful video, it is amazing audio and video. The Wiener Sangerknaben is my favor choir. Can you tell me what year is it and where it film at?  I can't recognize which choir is it? Are they Brucknerchor or Haydnchor or Schubertchor?

@MelvinEU Read my reply on your comment on the Haydn-Video please...:) By the way: Until now I well know several Masses by Mozart with boysoloists on DVDs and CDs. But I don´t know any performance of the Requiem in this way !

@Toelzerfanclever Your namesake choir recorded it in the mid-70s with Hansi Buchhierl as the soprano, and Mario Krämer as the alto, with the Collegium Aureum. This is one of the earlier recordings I picked up of the choir back then.

@Toelzerfanclever Not a CD -- they didn't have things like that in 1974 when it was released! It's a vinyl record. It may take me a while to do something but I may work on it!

@Toelzerfanclever Music - CDs are available since about 1982. That does not exclude that the CD in the shop of the Toelzers contains the recording of the mid-70s. Next weekend I shall meet those responsible of the choir.

Then we will know more...:)

Wonderful, wonderful, again, this is really an excellent boychoir and the soloists

are fantastic. I must say, you were sitting very close to the choir, and the soloists,

therefore the videoquality and the sound is very good, and of course, the

cameraman and the editor have made a very good job.
