Anyone else have one of those moments where you're like "Oh theres no way i'm going to remember the words to- WONT YOU MOVE OVER AND SHARE THIS WORLD EVERYONE MAKE SOME ROOM! EVEN A DRAGON DESERVES A PLACE, A WIDE OPEN SPACE WITH NO REINS, NO CHAINS!.......... O.O where the hell did that come from????"
I remember thinking when I was little that it would be really awesome if my school had a playground as cool as this, lol. thanks for posting; I'm glad other people out there appreciate the classics :)
*cries inside* oh how i wish the message "there is room for everyone even if they're different" were true! i am mildly autistic and very few people like me for who i am, and are happy for me just being alive! T_T
We were in Disney last month and I was absolutely elated to see that Elliot and Pete are in the Main Street Electrical Parade! This has been one of my favorite movies since I was a little girl and it makes me happy to see Elliot touching the hearts of another generation :-D .
My favorite scene from the movie. Helen Reddy was the Julie Andrews of the 70s. Singing with kids reminds me so much of The Sound of Music. Thanks for posting this gem.
One superstitious ding-dong disliked this video. :P
This has to be my all time favorite Disney film, next to Bedknobs and Broomsticks & The Parent Trap. When Disney films had morals and good storylines. How I miss those days.
This scene brings back some memories that make wanna shed a tear...I loved this movie, I used to watch it all the time. I miss the good old movies. I find the new Disney so soulless...
i dont remember much from when i was younger but i still remember watching this almost every day before i would go to bed. watching this now brings back memories :D just truly an inner joy
i agree with everyone here :) the quality on so many levels, just doesn't exist these days. loved this movie so much as a kid, and it brings back great memories :) :) <3 Thanks so much leighg5226 for sharing :)
I watched this movie last night cause I felt like watching an old disney movie and the whole time I was thinking...
hell...old disney movies are sooooo much better then the new ones. What happened to movies like this? Now all they make are dumb HSM and Hannah Montanna crap.
when ever i watch PROPER disney films not HSM Miss Hannah Montanna or Jonas Bros i get a happy feeling because it makes me remember how inoccent i once was
Ha Ha! you see how that little boy pushes the other kid out of the way when he sings at 2:35. It looks like the other kid didn't even know it was coming!
This is one of disney's best films. And it had some of disney's best songs. This was when Disney was cool. The stuff they show now can't hold a candle to the past. TV shows and movies that disney made from the 60's, 70's and 80's are so cool.
gee I love disney films but I HATE crap like high school musicle and camp rock and espesialy HANNAH MONTANA if you hate those sort of disney things too reply to this comment.
I wanted so much to be one of the playrground kids and sing this song... I love this movie more than words can express because of the unbelievable feelings of nostalgia. Though has anyone else notice that the kid, whatever hsi name is, can't act at all and can't really sing either? Not sure how he got this role, even if he is adorable...
My all time favorite Disney movie. My favorite line in this song is, "So let's all make sure we give everyone somewhere to stand - just the way God planned it, just the way God planned." [I love how Helen Reddy hits the notes on "planned it"]. It's ultra rare for a Disney production to acknowledge God.
I could have done without the silly dance interruption at the middle of the song, though. Even when I was a kid I thought it distracted from the song and looked embarrassing.
when Disney made real movies. Real story ,with real characters, and uplifting stories,,and that magical touch of film making.this movie is so good because of helen reddy and mickey rooneys performances
I love 1:31-1:36. Nora and all the other kids are staring out into space, pretending they can see Elliot, but Pete actually can so he knows where to look. I also like 3:46. I almost prefer Elliot's ambiguous moments to the animation.
I have to say as great as Nora is it always made me mad that she pretends to believe in Elliot when she doesn't really. She's thinks she's only humoring Pete. Ah well. I love this song (my favorite part when I was a kid) and I still envy that playground.
Yes, she was on Broadway. But her she is most famous for being the Queen of 70s Pop with 11 Top 20 Billboard hits, 9 number one hits, a Star on the Walk of Fame, she won the first American Music Award for Best Pop Female Vocalist and the list goes on. You must be very young if you don't remember her.
OMG! For years I have been trying to remember the name of this movie. I used to watch it when I was just a toddler and I have remembered it for that long! I am actually so happy I found it because it was such a cute movie!
*sheds a tear* oh the memories. The good old days when songs in Disney movies fitted in and made sense with/advanced the story. Unlike certain High School Musical movies that will remain nameless.
@TheSinisterAwakening Much as I hate to admit it, High School Musical is well put together. (not well written, but still) They sang the right kind of song at the right time with good transitions.
At the end when the teacher is scolding the kids, you can see Nora still swinging and Eilliot coming to help her off....though moments before, Elliot already helped her off and they made their way to the schoolhouse.
I love this movie as my late father took me to see this when I was 6 and it was one of the first that we rented when VHS came into play... I love you and miss you dad.. This song is for you.. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
This song sends a good message about acceptance. More people should listen to it and pay close attention. Disney should go back to making more musicals like this.
I love how well shes doing convincing the fisherman that their being superstitious, and then Pete screws it up with dragon talk!
