The Boleyn family was just one of many that wanted power during the Tudor reign. They did not have any foreign or political ties like Katherine of Aragon did...the only way up was through daughters marrying into other powerful families. With this, they went with Anne - and they went the King. Anne was really the pawn in all this. The show portrays her as a bit manipulative and as having had a lot to do with how things played out - and maybe she did. But we won't ever know the little details.
I see that a lot of people have different opinions on Anne . . . . really, nobody deserves to die. Anne wasn't the bad person in this situation - Henry was. All of his wives suffered.

U obviously dont turn down the interest of a king! Jane was more humble. She simply allowed him 2 pursue her. Anne manipulated every situatiuon 2 ensure the king didnt lose interest. Every woman can play a little dirty 2 get the man she wants but DAMN! She went along mighty willingly for a "pawn".They made it seem like at some point, it wasnt daddy pulling the strings. Anne was a master manipulator, determined 2 keep the kings favor and be crowned Queen. I cant feel bad 4 her downfall at all!
Well now I'm not commenting on what went on in the Tudors, but I will in history. Anne did not seek out Henry's attention. She was actually in love with someone else, so Henry split them up. She was devastated, and some say hated Henry (certainly Wosley) very much. After seeing what happened to her sister, she decided that would never happen to her. Henry really gave her no choice, he would not let he go.
that was the greatest success for a woman at the time. To be queen, ah such power. And wasn't her daughter a master manipulator too? she played all of europe like puppets on a string and you know what? she is known through history as being one of the greatest queens. So she could take a page from her mother's book. What do you get out of being humble? what did jane do? pop out a son and then die? and the son died at what? 14? While Katherine and Anne, two strong queens, had mary and liz.
this was awsome!... mccoordinator- it was the uncle and the father who were the ones doing the plotting. anne was a pawn. a girl back in those days wouldnt for the life of her go against her family. i see a lot of criticisim about anne- yes she did alot of horrible stuff, but who hasnt? but what about jane seymour? is she and her family just as bad, b'coz they did the same thing as the boleyns! and henry! well he used, he abused, and he didnt care as long as he got his own way.

when someone lies, manipulates and cheats as hard as Anne and her family did to get her to the throne, we cant expect some karma wouldnt bite her in the ass big time...live by the sword, die by the sword. The tongue is a weapon, her lying tongue got her head separated from her neck. her own plotting and the willingness with which she encouraged Henry to treat Catherine...demanded she pay with her life eventually! Not a decent women no matter what century it was!
Song sucks, of all the popular ballads in western music u could've chosen....

@queneofhearts Uh, who was this person she was in love with? I think you're mistaken in these facts.
