  • I found the LP sound track in a record shop for a dollar in Wisconsin while on my first liberty in boot camp in 1971,I still have it !

  • Sounds like a combination of Randy California & the Who's 1967 Monterey Pop favorite " I Can See for Miles" .

  • I have it on dvd/ I am so glad it has at least this many views.

  • i love this movie!! you can find it at some kitchy video stores or look online. Hilarious!

  • I saw this movie back in the 70's also . A few years after having been to Woodstock. The only reason we went to see it was because of the bands and music. Then it turned into a cult " classic " . I loved it ! ! Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of this ?

  • I saw this as-kicking movie in 1971. How the fuck old does that make me.

  • @slkaiser69 Answer: "real"

  • citypunk77 dj---free nimbin radio-----part of my ---something or other---pretty koolin its day

  • I was named Zachariah after this movie and its title character. My mother was not so pleased when she finally saw the movie. I love it for that "so bad it's good" quality.

  • I LOVE this movie...and this is perhaps the greatest western opening scene ever.

  • @Tonymacaluso have you ever seen Once Upon A Time In The West by Sergio Leone? that was not only the greatest western opening scene ever, but maybe the greatest opening scene ever. Zachariah is a really cool movie though

  • A Rock Western, don't get any better than this. Yeah I was there when it came out. Most awesome flickage of the day. Enjoy.

  • And screenplay mostly by Firesign Theatre.....until somebody started messing around with it

  • "I'm a peace loving man and there ain't nothing more peaceful than a dead man!"

  • I've always loved this...elemental!

  • hey, what about the scene near the middle of the movie where what's his face leaves his bud and is riding across the desert for maybe 5 minutes to some REALLY INTENSE music?

    that's my favorite :]

  • hahah this movies crazy. in many ways it contains some of the worst acting imaginable. also the worst dancing. but it still awesome.

  • Best scene: Doug Kershaw singing "Don't you go to Appache Wells".Someone must post that.

  • hi, just did..

  • You wrote this a long time ago, so have you found this scene? It's about 7 minutes into Zachariah (3 of 10)...

  • weed out man --this is rare!!!!!!!

  • I WAS IN THAT MOVIE.

  • very cool, you must have been a roadie. we got to do all the wierd stuff

  • Best dialogue: (to a fast gun handler) "Where did ya learn to draw like that?" "I learned to draw at home in my spare time."

  • Loved that flick. Used to see it at the "midnight movie" with all the other freaks.

What I would really love to see is the clip where Zach and Matthew & The Crackers made camp and Barry Melton does the song "All I Need" (a reefer, a woman & a bottle of wine).

Is there any way you could post that?

    Thanks!

  • Joe Walsh playing "Laguna Salada"! How great is that? A cult classic.

  • A strange but fun movie from the early 70s. Kids, don't do drugs!
