I saw this movie back in the 70's also . A few years after having been to Woodstock. The only reason we went to see it was because of the bands and music. Then it turned into a cult " classic " . I loved it ! ! Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of this ?
I was named Zachariah after this movie and its title character. My mother was not so pleased when she finally saw the movie. I love it for that "so bad it's good" quality.
@Tonymacaluso have you ever seen Once Upon A Time In The West by Sergio Leone? that was not only the greatest western opening scene ever, but maybe the greatest opening scene ever. Zachariah is a really cool movie though
hey, what about the scene near the middle of the movie where what's his face leaves his bud and is riding across the desert for maybe 5 minutes to some REALLY INTENSE music?
Loved that flick. Used to see it at the "midnight movie" with all the other freaks.
What I would really love to see is the clip where Zach and Matthew & The Crackers made camp and Barry Melton does the song "All I Need" (a reefer, a woman & a bottle of wine).
I found the LP sound track in a record shop for a dollar in Wisconsin while on my first liberty in boot camp in 1971,I still have it !

Sounds like a combination of Randy California & the Who's 1967 Monterey Pop favorite " I Can See for Miles" .

Best dialogue: (to a fast gun handler) "Where did ya learn to draw like that?" "I learned to draw at home in my spare time."
