Great movie! One of my favorite's from the Fifties. Very few film noir's would have worked in color. This one was one of the exceptions.

Nice to have a classic movie like this documenting Niagara Falls before they turned it into a Vegas Wanna be. When I lived there ...the Skylon and Seagrams (Royal) were the only high structures, now there are highrises all over.

I'm from the west coast, and only visited Niagara Falls once in about 1972, when I was too young to remember much, so for me, watching this film gives me a fantasy of how Niagara Falls 'should be.' I can well imagine that if you remember it as it was then, it seems ruined now. Watching this film, I understand how Niagara Falls was the honeymoon spot of choice at one time. If only I could travel in time and space, I'd go back and visit the falls around the time this film was made.

It's a shame that Marilyn is remembered as a dumb blonde and not a sexy femme fatale as she plays in this film because she really nailed the part. I don't understand how Fox could have been so stupid in managing Marilyn, her first two breakthrough roles were dramas in which she performed impressively for a newcomer, yet the bulk of her roles after that were repetitively played-out comedies. Marilyn was Fox's biggest box office draw, yet she was paid only a fraction of Liz Taylor's salary. UGH!

I love Marilyn Monroe so much. Hardly anyone remebers Elizabeth Taylor, but everyone remebers Marilyn (especially from The Seven Year Itch). She was trying to get more serious roles, but she was always typecasted as the beautiful dumb blonde. It is to bad because she was very intelligent too.

Keep in mind the 50's was a hard time to obtain a divorce, particularly if you were a woman and you didn't have a "valid" reason. George was besotted with Rose, and not in a healthy way, which she was very aware of. His mad jealousy had no limits or boundaries; Rose did not know what he was capable of if she left him. Also, I strongly suspect that Rose had psychopathic tendencies as the film implied she actually enjoyed plotting his murder.

Looks like s/he used AVS Video Editor. The free version puts the "ripper credit" automatically. In order to take it off, s/he has to pay for it (or find a keygen or something to hack it).
