  • This song is about soul mates and reincarnation...."I've found you a thousand time, I guess you've done the same..." One of the few songs I remember the words to :-) I agree, a great time in many ways. Love to All and One

    Wendy

  • Sigh Summer of 72, a wondrful girl called Wendy in a west Country village and me a terribly homesick boy soldier, what a time..... what an emotive song

  • I have forgotten this song, but jeeses, what a wake up!!!! Sorry,my english is not so good, i hope you understand what i mean? I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • this song is so trendy

  • A great song written by Harry Chapin.

  • OMG Marty Kristian was absolutely gorrrrrgeous

  • The great artist and humanitarian Harry Chapin wrote a clutch of superb songs, but it was customary that his treatment were recognized as the classics and couldn't be topped (see "W.O.L.D" "Taxi" etc). An exception is this beautiful version, which is one of the great pop records of the seventies. The New Seekers, musically a considerable advance on Abba and a whole lot sexier than Brotherhood of Man, should be in any and all music halls of fame.

  • the best song from the best group EVER

  • I met Eve in the Fiesta Nightclub in Stockton on tees back in the 70s, nice lass, damn good singer.

  • Summer of 72, the years keep rolling by.

  • Eve Graham was the best looking woman in 70's music!!!

  • Ah the memories! My favourite group as a teeneger and don't even try to explain that to a modern kid. Times change, accept it but hang on to the good memoeies!

  • this band is one of the worst i ever heard, and they got paid 4 th is? the original seekers georgia girl was good

  • @tommieparch

Hmmm, sounds like someone talking out of their arse........funny how the hard of thinking are quick to display their idiotic opinions...........how's about a rousing chorus of I'd Like To Teach... for this ultimate prat?

  • i used to live in Walthamstow in East London backing onto Lloyds Park, every year the fair would come an d I remember this being piped out of the speakers. Happy days as an eight year old urr

  • Despite the rubbish being spouted on the comments, I still adore this song!! :) Thanks so much for posting x

  • @blowzoom13 And your talks is pretty nasty and sexuall ones.

    God hates it.

I love God, hes my hero with Jesus.

You should to suck your own dick because you might to loves yourself too much, selfish person.

  • @blowzoom13 Looks like you have an infatuation with the male anatomy....Go back in your parent's basement and don't come out until you can post something of intelligence.

  • @blowzoom13 OOH, WOW, I am so offended by your comments...NOT !!!! You're a joke....You are really showing your inteligence by your comments....Even though your channel says your 26, your comments are that of a 13 year old....Please seek professional counseling immediately because you definitely have some anger issues that you need resolved.

  • Nothing beats the original line-up

  • Nothing beats the original line-up !

  • Eve will do just fine for me. Great Harry Chapin song.

  • you maybe right, blondie always attract more attention, say Mary Hopkins,Deebie Harry etc, well, I have a deep impression of eve back in 1971-1972, in which eve attrats me more in those album, i always thought new seekers is such a waste.

don't forget I'm a great fan of lyn too, I had her solo album back in 1974.You know ,comparison is cruel, they are all beautiful people.

    Tanks for your reply.

  • hilarious! i luv it! suicidal bunnies are any comedians goal

  • 95% of Top of the Pops episodes from 1972 have been wiped by the BBC.

The BBC are the laughing stock in the broadcasting world renowned for their incompetence.

  • love the seakers, particularly lyn paul my first school boy crush, what a voice and what a girl xx

  • Saw them live a few times, twice in one day. This was my favourite of theirs.

  • Evil, evil music.

  • fantastic years. I had this enormous crush on eve graham. Looking back at her I can still see why.

  • @JNL19901 She was totally gorgeous,i agree.

  • How time changes things - this was my favourite group of the time, they were succeeded by 'Fox', and now, (in my mid 50's) I think 'Trans Siberian Orchestra' are the greatest thing since sliced bread! Couldn't get much different really.....

  • Eve was definetely prettier tnan Lyn at that time,I love Lyn too.

  • @ronniesbfan ...eve prittier than lyn!....wish youd have been my mate as a young man on the pull, no contest mate lyn was a real beauty...

  • I've got this on cd but also on a cheap compliation album called Top of the Pops Vo, 25.

But i prefer this version LOL.

  • i loved the new seekers i tried to learn this on piano when i was about 10/11 did nt quite master it tho great to see again thank you

  • brilliant

  • A bass guitar arpeggio at 0.29 intrigued me for years. Never did quite get it.

  • Reminds me of the summer of 72..

  • Good year 72, Glam Rock arrived, society was changing and music distracted us from the bloody disaster the Labour party was making

  • takes me back to my favourite year 1972, aged 14, when life was so much easier, and music so much better.

  • Heck 72 the year I left school, joined the army, fell in love for the first time, left home, found Glam Rock, discovered the magic of Somerset.

    best year of my life.

  • who else was on this show? loved this chart year as a kid - New Seekers, Lynsey de Paul, Partridge Family, T.Rex...

  • Eve Graham: The Best Female to come out of Scotland. (Best MALE was Shanks)

  • Bring back a lot of memory when I was doing summer job in that year .Together with Alone again naturally Summer 1972

  • Wish they would get rid of the driftwood and bring back Eve, Lyn and Peter. I know Peter Doyle is no longer with us but Peter Oliver was a good replacement. Come on Gang reform and show this lot how it should be done!!!

  • ditto,1949 and dont forget marty

  • Too true, a real shame that Peter Doyle is no longer with us, his contribution to the sucess of the group was huge, a unique voice. But there's still Lyn and Eve, Lyn's latest CD "Late Night" shows she just gets better and better - bring the originals back!!

  • Get a life!

  • I have this show but would love a decent copy of it. 1972 what a great year!!

  • OH THE YEARS!!! I was around 12 as well, I can just recall listening to it on the tranny. LOL then we got a top of the pops record with circles on it. Those top of the pop records wer good value back then if you could not afford the real thing.

  • music transcends time, i could be 12 again! thats scary! thankyou for posting this, it has so many memories, i still have the LP 35 years later!

  • Agreed -shame its so muffled -or is it me failing ears -gawd blessus! Christ...so many memories.

  • Sounds a little like Seals & Crofts and a little like Sears & Roebuck...

  • I love this song, the version on the Elektra 45 at least. This version here is fairly faithful to it, which is good ...

  • this is totp july 1972 , bbc dont wipe. its up to polydor records. to behave

  • Great to see this - first time since I saw the original TOTP in 1972. I thought the BBC had wiped all these shows ? Where did this come from ? Thanks for posting.

  • Great version of a a great Harry Chapin song. I had no idea the New Seekers did a version of this. RIP Harry Chapin.

  • it got to no 4 in uk july 1972

  • The colour has dropped out over the years.

  • These guys have got to reform!!! C'mon NS's- we love you. It's time you gotback together so we can hear all those beautiful songs again. Please pretty please!

  • The New Seekers are still touring !!!!

    See their website

  • Re:nicoiurh-True, but like with how many from the classic line-up?

  • Paul is still with us. It remains a great show so don't think 72 but just enjoy and bring back the memories!

  • Yeah but just the bass player - none of the vocalists - and it shows :(

  • brings back all the memories,of a wonderful time ,

  • a good song. does anyone remember the year - i think 74 and what number did it reach in the charts?

  • Circles - (1972) - Number 4 UK Charts, Number 87 US Charts
