You're looking at it all wrong. It's not really about being 'funny' and 'random'. It's all just a buildup to the last scene. It's showing the animators decline until any and all narrative and purpose is lost in his work and his animation falls apart. It's a work of genius.

Yes, the random parts, to me, were funny. But the entire thing was just a buildup for that last scene. There is a completely valid reason for the 'random shit' in this.

A friend of mine had it on a disc with an SNES emulator. I've no idea where she got it from. I've heard the main issue Don Hertzefeldt has with passing this around is the low quality of so many files. Sounds like it's quite a valid concern. I guess I got lucky in getting this one, it seems at least as good or better than the quality of others I've seen on youtube (hence my posting it, in addition to my having been bored and wanting to post something to youtube haha).
