I agree with your point about the mainstream media. All major media in the U.S. is filtered and needs to be weighed and thought about critically before accepting as truth. I do still watch just to keep up on current events, but sadly, journalism barely exists anymore. Our modern day media is disappointing to say the least.

As far as Obama's speech, you can sum that up in one sentence. The vast majority of U.S. national politicians are lawyers.
