@XStreamGunz A lot of people who have tried the Mesmer have said that out of all the professions, this one was one of the hardest to master, but was one of the most fun.
I like high skill curves myself, and I plan to challenge the mesmer profession~
Just confirming, the weapons the various professions can use are just the types of weapons and not the only weapons in the game right? I'm assuming they aren't, but it's hard to find any specific information on this game all I found is that there is a lot of unique armor, and not much on item drops.
@Razomir Ya arena net doesn't have a big publisher forcing them to release the game early. I honestly think the game is complete they are now just smoother out some of th edges

@manggjiosdjg If you're referring to the money when you say "go to", then you're wrong. The majority of the money goes to Youtube. A smaller part goes to the user. The user only makes a couple cents every thousands views and whatnot. It's a very small amount of money.
Least played class will be the ranger just like what happened in gw1 when it first came out. A lot of people are going to be guardians and a lot of people will be mesmers until they realize how hard it is and then will quit. A LOT OF ENGINEERS though. I'm counting on it to be at least 1/4 or 1/3 or maybe 1/5 of all players.
I particularly like the skill where you or the clone jump foward and hit the enemy, especially for pvp it will be hard to guess which one is hitting you because if you jump foward, a clone stays in your place but if the clone jumps foward, well you get the picture
Ehmm.....I guees this is the OP class? you can kinda put that invisible thing on a 5v5 then wait for 1 enemy to come and then atk him...:P (tho the noob player would use it to run into it because he think that the enemy havent seen him then run straight out on the other side xD)
@zengara11 the invisible aoe is a rather short duration, so probably not too op. plus, it might not be too viable to wait around in one spot for too long in a 5v5.
@justindwhitaker I meant mroe like putting a invisible thingy up in the clocktower and wait for some1 to come then rape him when he is really close. But that thing with that there isnt a big duration for invisible makes that impossible :p
@Fretplayer1 elementalist will probably be the most played but there are so many ways to play that class alone so i dont mind playing as the super popular profession

Necro isnt a nuke class its a curse class using the right kind of curses for the right situations also managing 6-16 pets will not be easy under any stretch of the imagination and u will have to manage death shroud its more about defense not damage.
im not sure if confusion is actually an exclusive condition for mesmers, i could be wrong but i heard somewhere that its a general condition that could be applied by all professions.

So here is a question for you that I have posted to other youtubers. I know it is a little to early as the skills for the Mesmer have not come out yet, but based on what you have seen, if you had to pick just one collar class, what one would you pick in GW2 and why?
The leap is also good to evade skills i think. he start cast on you then you use illusion leap and the illusion will be in front of him so its block the attack(most likely die :D). Sounds logical :3
God this sucks ass for me lol. I want to be a mesmer and/or elementalist but by the time this game comes out I'll probably be in basic training or AIT and I won't get to play it for several months when everybody else is out mastering their profession
@Cesnes007 That would be nice, but it's currently closed beta. After a bit of time A-Net will invite more specific people to join the next stage of the closed beta. And depending on the results of the closed beta they will either secure a release date or bring in an open beta for more testing. I'm expecting probably the first quarter of 2012, perhaps towards the end, February / March, sooner would be better but we just have to wait and see how the results pan out.

It took AN 5 months to organize closed beta. It just started and still extra 2 steps to go (CB-OB and OB-release). Do You really think it will come in March/April? @X12115 im thinking late april which is 4 months and at the point of where they are at the moment in production i really cant see how they even would even find enough work to for more than 4 months. i guess it may take a month to get it approved and shipped, so lets say 3 months of work which still is a shit load of looking at where they're at. CBT 1 month, almost a month to prepare OBT, OBT 1 month, 1 month to prepare the game, and then 1 approve and ship. thats 4 months with a big margin :P.
@X12115 You are very likely wrong. The betas will be fast BECAUSE Anet is known for quality. If they have gone to beta that means everythnig is fairly smoothed out, unlike many games that put titles on beta and then fix stuff for half a year. 2-3 months til game release is the most likely scenario.

For them to be on beta test signups, knowing their reputation, it is a safe guess that they have smoothed out most of it. And of course a beta and a demo are similar in terms of content, but who is speaking of a demo anyway?
@Razomir They have announced that betas will be held during march/april. If we are lucky the first beta will be next weekend, then each weekend until april. In april they will launch a open beta for everyone, and we can hope that the game will be released in may. JUST MY THOUGHTS AND HOPES
@Razomir My point being, a Demo is made to sort of advertise a game, Beta is used to check for bugs, and smooth out issues within the game. I am not saying that Anet is going to release the game is a bad state. But "Beta is Beta" and as a result is just a part of the bug fixing process. I played GW on day 1, and it was still quite buggy. Though my hopes is GW2 is more refined then other recent MMO releases.
@TheInterficio Well I did say 2-3 months. That is quite enough for a beta. Do not make the mistake of thinking because many companies release unfinished products that it is normal for a beta to go for 5-6 months. Considering there has been playable versions at many conventions and a press beta thus far it is reasonable to assume the major bugs at least will be smoothed out. There is always a process of fine-tuning even after release.
Anyone with concerns or accusations about certain prof's being "OP" should consider how hard ArenaNet struggled and worked at fine tuning balance in GW 1 (a staggering 1,319 skills available in total) when they simply didn't have to. They could have let the accusatory "overpowered" skills stay the same post release. They already had your money in their pocket, with no monthly fee to bind them to perfecting the game for subscribers. More work goes into nerfing skills than getting them rite first.
One question: you said it's a "light armored" profession, but is it really? On the official site there's a picture of a warrior-like mesmer in heavy armor and I really REALLY hate the idea! I just want it to be a proper caster...
@nisteven Yeah I get what you mean, but there can still be a "proper caster" in terms of using magic only rather than combining it with bladed weapons and heavy armor (this one in particular), something that paladins or "arcane warriors" do. But I guess you already answered my question - if it wears light armor, it's a proper caster :P tnx
@JackBailey95 “When its ready” is the only thing Arena Net will say on the subject of a release date. But that is actually pretty close. The game enters closed beta this Friday (12-16-2011) and depending on how smoothly that goes open beta won’t be far behind. They have also said that open beta is just going to be for promotional reasons, and the final release date will be only a few months, perhaps even only weeks, after. So the smart money is on an March/April release.
sounds like your audio changes on almost every video. might I recommend finding a room with less reverb (or using some kind of fur blimp buffer), and/or keeping the same volume settings for recording?
The Beta that is coming this Friday is a CLOSED Beta. This means that it will NOT be available publicly. It is the initial testing phase for a game coming out of Alpha. Don't be disappointed that you can't get it though! It's good news! It means the release will soon be upon us and we can play the game we've waited for for so long!

honestly the memser looks very difficult. something that could be good or bad, but im thinkin the mesmer will be my last character, cuz thieves are my first. besides mesmer seems very over powered.
I really think it's incredible how much Arenanet has learned from Guild Wars 1, they try to make GW2 as balanced as possible, without the overpowered classes, without farming fow or uw over and over again, and now, without the mesmer constantly rupting your spells. It will be all about strategy, no more spamming builds! :)

It took AN 5 months to organize closed beta. It just started and still extra 2 steps to go (CB-OB and OB-release). Do You really think it will come in March/April? The closed beta just started and fixing the bugs and implement new last ideas could be not a 1 month job. If they realese it Q2 2012 it will be a huge success. I was thinking more about Q4, hope I am wrong, hope I am wrong.

You did not get it, but I will gladly explain^^ This little thing, looking like this "-" means "to", so from CB to OB and OB to release... final release. And yea CB and OB last some time as well, try to count this until March. If they do CB (weeks, month?), CB-OB(ws, m?), OB(), OB-R() in 3 months, then respect. Try to calculate that way, 3 months split to them periods don't look so long. Yeah!

My English is not great, but I want to learn Spanish too. Any ideas?

@X12115 im thinking late april which is 4 months and at the point of where they are at the moment in production i really cant see how they even would even find enough work to for more than 4 months. i guess it may take a month to get it approved and shipped, so lets say 3 months of work which still is a shit load of looking at where they're at. CBT 1 month, almost a month to prepare OBT, OBT 1 month, 1 month to prepare the game, and then 1 approve and ship. thats 4 months with a big margin :P.

@X12115 You are very likely wrong. The betas will be fast BECAUSE Anet is known for quality. If they have gone to beta that means everythnig is fairly smoothed out, unlike many games that put titles on beta and then fix stuff for half a year. 2-3 months til game release is the most likely scenario.

@TheInterficio I would have taken you seriously had you gone without the "silly" comment. Remember the Anet "when it's ready" relesae date? For them to be on beta test signups, knowing their reputation, it is a safe guess that they have smoothed out most of it. And of course a beta and a demo are similar in terms of content, but who is speaking of a demo anyway?

@Razomir They have announced that betas will be held during march/april. If we are lucky the first beta will be next weekend, then each weekend until april. In april they will launch a open beta for everyone, and we can hope that the game will be released in may. JUST MY THOUGHTS AND HOPES

@Razomir My point being, a Demo is made to sort of advertise a game, Beta is used to check for bugs, and smooth out issues within the game. I am not saying that Anet is going to release the game is a bad state. But "Beta is Beta" and as a result is just a part of the bug fixing process. I played GW on day 1, and it was still quite buggy. Though my hopes is GW2 is more refined then other recent MMO releases.

@TheInterficio Well I did say 2-3 months. That is quite enough for a beta. Do not make the mistake of thinking because many companies release unfinished products that it is normal for a beta to go for 5-6 months. Considering there has been playable versions at many conventions and a press beta thus far it is reasonable to assume the major bugs at least will be smoothed out. There is always a process of fine-tuning even after release.

Anyone with concerns or accusations about certain prof's being "OP" should consider how hard ArenaNet struggled and worked at fine tuning balance in GW 1 (a staggering 1,319 skills available in total) when they simply didn't have to. They could have let the accusatory "overpowered" skills stay the same post release. They already had your money in their pocket, with no monthly fee to bind them to perfecting the game for subscribers. More work goes into nerfing skills than getting them rite first.

One question: you said it's a "light armored" profession, but is it really? On the official site there's a picture of a warrior-like mesmer in heavy armor and I really REALLY hate the idea! I just want it to be a proper caster...

@nisteven Yeah I get what you mean, but there can still be a "proper caster" in terms of using magic only rather than combining it with bladed weapons and heavy armor (this one in particular), something that paladins or "arcane warriors" do. But I guess you already answered my question - if it wears light armor, it's a proper caster :P tnx

@JackBailey95 “When its ready” is the only thing Arena Net will say on the subject of a release date. But that is actually pretty close. The game enters closed beta this Friday (12-16-2011) and depending on how smoothly that goes open beta won’t be far behind. They have also said that open beta is just going to be for promotional reasons, and the final release date will be only a few months, perhaps even only weeks, after. So the smart money is on an March/April release.

The Beta that is coming this Friday is a CLOSED Beta. This means that it will NOT be available publicly. It is the initial testing phase for a game coming out of Alpha. Don't be disappointed that you can't get it though! It's good news! It means the release will soon be upon us and we can play the game we've waited for for so long!

I really think it's incredible how much Arenanet has learned from Guild Wars 1, they try to make GW2 as balanced as possible, without the overpowered classes, without farming fow or uw over and over again, and now, without the mesmer constantly rupting your spells. It will be all about strategy, no more spamming builds! :)
That's what makes GW2 unique!
