  • Hoo..this is better than the sampled version of P.U.T.S -give love a chance....FUNKY....

  • I ain't gonna front, this joint gives me goose bumps. The bass is retarded : )

  • theirs a jungle tune that used this tune as a sample anyone know what its called?

  • Everytime i hear this song, i think about jay z version off of i got tha hook up soundtrack but i love slum village better.

  • People Under the Stairs - Give love a chance

  • Go Ladies!

  • This track is something else. its damn near perfect...

  • Please mam please sir respect Don Blackman. He's not just the vocalist but also the piano player. Along side him is Marcus miller on bass and Dennis chambers on drums. You may have never heard of him but don't get it twisted, he is da truth!

  • @mikegsax Nope, Barry "Sunjon" Johnson on bass

  • I luv to hear where samples come from. I never heard of this guy. He looks like a Rick James wanna be lol. I know my old music pretty well, this is a good song though.

  • THANKS FOR THE GOOD DOPE!!!

  • Saw him last night....fantastic!

  • no i dont think it was but it is used in a rap joint by l the head toucher to complex

  • @pablo27930 You would be Correct. L. The Head Toucha - Too Complex (Vinyl Reanimators Production) Direct Records 1997

  • beautiful

  • when the beat of this song drops, i can not only hear SV's go ladies, but also Jay-Z's what the game made me from that i got the hookup soundtrack, all classic! i love it all old school and new school!

  • DOPE!

  • L the head Toucha used a sample from this song for "Too Complex"

  • This tune is just FANTASTIC!!!!!!! what else can i say?

  • damn so many rap cats bit off this man one song i can name two songs made from this song, snoop dogg "aint it man" and jay z's "what the game made me"

  • Love this cut, thanks for sharing! Don Blackmon was slept on, phenomenal muscian and artist.

  • People Under the Stairs

    Vinyl Reanimators

    Classic shit right here.

  • Much thanks to ~valambiguous~ for the love that comes so freely from this very cooL song that I had never heard before..and, thank you for your time posting it..it is the moments like this that make me appreciate YT a little more..

  • just got hold of the album and man am i happy! I just wonder why the track Yabba Dabba Doo was removed from you tube??? when every other track on the album is still on you tube

  • Classiness at it's best....Love this!

  • Devin tha Dude and ScareFace used this in it's going down tonight. This is a Badass sample.

  • I absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this song! It's sooo l♥ve! A Beautiful classic mos def!

  • What a wicked tune, and if you like this, for those who may not already have heard of him, try donald byrd, Winparade.. peace

  • People Under The Stairs killed this one!!!

  • absolutely no man! both versions are great! and i am glad that PUTS used this phenomenal motive in their own great version! peace

  • We have a breakdown in communication my friend, what I am stating is that when it comes to all of the artists that have sampled this song, PUTS killed it, and took it to a place no one else has yet.

As for Captain Keyboard, no one will ever do his music better than him!!!

  • uhh killed it means they did a good track...

  • Well to be honest, it can mean either and the context of the original statement doesn't really point one way or the other. Yes, I know I'm boring and have no life! Right, I'm off to look up the PUTS tune as I've never heard it and I'm curious as I'm definitely in the 'the original can never even be matched' camp......

  • So much Hip Hop was sampled from this Go Ladies-Slum Village, What the Game made Me - Jay-Z Memphis Bleek, Sauce Money; Let me here you clap-Dj Jazzy Jeff. This by far is a hot ass sample and a sick bass riff

  • this song is beautifull fuckin nice it can't be remix or remake, nobody can do it better then don blackman,by the way i'm chicano.peace

  • L da headtoucha - too complex

    1.34

  • This is a great tune in its original way not sampled and chopped up...come and hear THIS tune and other soul classics with LIVE BAND!!..If you're in London on June 27th!!..Its gonna be a great night of great music ....ask me where!!....you'll dance you're arse off!!!!

  • if pharrel sampled this in a beat it would sound ridiculous he would flip it crazy

  • luving you don belive that>

  • Also sampled for "What the Game Made Me" by Jay-Z

  • i luv the original and he is wild he's like in his late 30's when this drop and he saying the girl is only 17 wow mad real basically he saying age aint nothing but a number and he even sang saying people think that she's 2 young and her life has just begun and he also said a mind and body oh so pure wow he lucky he didnt g0 2 jail if it was true but it's only a song but hott song he still gangsta with his music lmao ok and im out 1

  • @pricancouchpotato

I agree! I love this song but when I listened to it closely I was kind of disgusted at the fact that he was singing this about a 17 year old girl.

  • Pharrell, Jazzy Jeff LOL this is Don Blackman original and always the best make no doubt about that!

  • What bugs me is that when you find a great tune like this you get all the comments about who sampled the groove and so on but really so what!sampled music is crap if a musician wants to create great music then he needs his own ideas no-one elses. fantastic original track by the way!

  • haha you're an idiot

  • loving the shells Don!!

  • groovin

  • Pharrell did it as an intro for Can I Have It Like That in his tour from 2006

  • DJ Jazzy Jeff also used it for the track called "Let me hear you clap" Feat. Pos

  • yeah. I heard it in the Jazzy jeff track..dope

  • What Jazzy Jeff track? This is my first time hearing this and I was wondering if anyone sampled this. SIDEBAR: the bass line is insane.

  • the Track "Let me hear you Clap" by Jazzy Jeff..

  • was also used by L The Head Toucha on the Haze NY Reality Check comp mixed by the one and only Dj Premier

  • I would so like to freestyle or see kanye, common or wayne freestyle on this beat

  • Jay-Z Used This & Plus Wiley As Well

  • jay used this for what

  • Go Ladies

  • I think Jay Z used this too

  • the engine to my comprehension is just too complex...Don Blackman is nice

  • slum village go ladies. he has a sultry voice.

  • I don't think it was used for SV's "Go Ladies". They did'nt even credit this song on the album. I think everyone thinks it does just cause it almost sounds similar. But where is the proof?

  • I dont know how you cant hear it...lol Jay dee samples the opening loop from 0-0:10. He obviously compressed it , broke up part of it and recomposed it with an MPC . than layered them all on top of each other while accenting it with parts of the sample here and there. look up "pete rock sampling love is a battle field" and people showing how Common's "The People" was made from their samples to see the techniques in person

  • Also the bassline was chopped apart and rearranged mostly in reverse. then he added the additional kicks and snares

  • it certainly was my friend. im in the d and came up wit them cats. but he used the beginning part from it

  • This song go's hard than a bitch

  • The Jamaica Cats were puttin 'em OUT back in the day.

    Don Blackman

    Lenny White & Twennynine

    Bernard Wright

    Marcus Miller

    Tom Brown . . .

  • Those guys are Jamaican?

  • LOL , no, they were out of Jamaica, Queens NY

  • Also L "The Head Toucha - Too Complex" contains a big sample from this song!!! Beautiful song...

  • Thanks for the line

  • People Under the Stairs also sampled this...

  • love it

  • the sample is crazy because dilla filtered in such a way that it sounds way different than the sample. Go Ladies is not an easy beat to make at all. Even though it is a loop it is filtered so crazy that it sounds completely different than the original sample.

  • A friend of mine showed me this song a while back and I flipped out!!! This song is hot! Slum Village couldn't have chosen a better sample.

  • Sampled by Jay-Z feat. Sauce Money "Im What The Game Made Me". Good upload!

  • Thanks for the Info be sure to check out my other vids as I upload regularly.

  • I will if you do the same!
