Please mam please sir respect Don Blackman. He's not just the vocalist but also the piano player. Along side him is Marcus miller on bass and Dennis chambers on drums. You may have never heard of him but don't get it twisted, he is da truth!
I luv to hear where samples come from. I never heard of this guy. He looks like a Rick James wanna be lol. I know my old music pretty well, this is a good song though.
when the beat of this song drops, i can not only hear SV's go ladies, but also Jay-Z's what the game made me from that i got the hookup soundtrack, all classic! i love it all old school and new school!
damn so many rap cats bit off this man one song i can name two songs made from this song, snoop dogg "aint it man" and jay z's "what the game made me"
Much thanks to ~valambiguous~ for the love that comes so freely from this very cooL song that I had never heard before..and, thank you for your time posting it..it is the moments like this that make me appreciate YT a little more..
just got hold of the album and man am i happy! I just wonder why the track Yabba Dabba Doo was removed from you tube??? when every other track on the album is still on you tube
We have a breakdown in communication my friend, what I am stating is that when it comes to all of the artists that have sampled this song, PUTS killed it, and took it to a place no one else has yet.
As for Captain Keyboard, no one will ever do his music better than him!!!
Well to be honest, it can mean either and the context of the original statement doesn't really point one way or the other. Yes, I know I'm boring and have no life! Right, I'm off to look up the PUTS tune as I've never heard it and I'm curious as I'm definitely in the 'the original can never even be matched' camp......
So much Hip Hop was sampled from this Go Ladies-Slum Village, What the Game made Me - Jay-Z Memphis Bleek, Sauce Money; Let me here you clap-Dj Jazzy Jeff. This by far is a hot ass sample and a sick bass riff
This is a great tune in its original way not sampled and chopped up...come and hear THIS tune and other soul classics with LIVE BAND!!..If you're in London on June 27th!!..Its gonna be a great night of great music ....ask me where!!....you'll dance you're arse off!!!!
i luv the original and he is wild he's like in his late 30's when this drop and he saying the girl is only 17 wow mad real basically he saying age aint nothing but a number and he even sang saying people think that she's 2 young and her life has just begun and he also said a mind and body oh so pure wow he lucky he didnt g0 2 jail if it was true but it's only a song but hott song he still gangsta with his music lmao ok and im out 1
What bugs me is that when you find a great tune like this you get all the comments about who sampled the groove and so on but really so what!sampled music is crap if a musician wants to create great music then he needs his own ideas no-one elses. fantastic original track by the way!
I don't think it was used for SV's "Go Ladies". They did'nt even credit this song on the album. I think everyone thinks it does just cause it almost sounds similar. But where is the proof?
I dont know how you cant hear it...lol Jay dee samples the opening loop from 0-0:10. He obviously compressed it , broke up part of it and recomposed it with an MPC . than layered them all on top of each other while accenting it with parts of the sample here and there. look up "pete rock sampling love is a battle field" and people showing how Common's "The People" was made from their samples to see the techniques in person
the sample is crazy because dilla filtered in such a way that it sounds way different than the sample. Go Ladies is not an easy beat to make at all. Even though it is a loop it is filtered so crazy that it sounds completely different than the original sample.
Hoo..this is better than the sampled version of P.U.T.S -give love a chance....FUNKY....
