I just bought a DVD copy off the internet of 'Rainbow' featuring this amazing young lady as Judy Garland. I have been searching for it since it was first aired on television in the late 1970's. It's just as wonderful as I remembered it !!!! I'll add some of it on here as soon as I figure out how to do so.....Andrea was/is amazing.

It's a nice clean DVD copy but unfortunately it only plays onthe right channel of any stereo playing system (Tv/DVD/Computer/Headphones) but it is still a joy to watch again and again. Andrea is an amazing singer...I would love to meet her in person one day.

Why didn't Andrea get a recording deal at this time? Someone should have taken her under their wing a produced her. If they could make records for Sean Cassidy, Kristy McNichol or John Travolta around this time then it's a CRIME no one picked her up and molded her into a radio star. Maybe she just preferred doing stage musicals and more broadway.

If anyone has any parts of "Rainbow" from 1978 (made for TV movie starring Andrea), it would be great.  I have it on VHS but I have no way to transfer VHS over to DVD anymore, and I'm sure Annie fans would love it. This song is from that movie.

this is when she was in that in-between stage, no longer little girl Annie but not quite grown into the beautiful young woman she would become by the early 80s (when she dropped out of NYU to do Jerry's Girls).

Speaking of Kelly Clarkson, Andrea did and still does blow all those American Idol kids AWAY. She deserved that kind of exposure but it was a different era.

I am Andrea's age and I was CRAZY about her and "Annie" back in the day. Re-watching this now makes me see a little Kelly Clarkson in her. I never would have put the two together but I'd now like to see them do a duet!

I was SUCH an Andrea McArdle fan when I was seven, when she was Annie on Broadway! I met her briefly in NYC and almost fainted. It's great to see her that age again.

She is a little older than I am, so yes, in her early forties.
