In the future MMA fighters need to get paid more though. MMA is getting more and more popular each day and is increasing but boxing isn't decreasing. You're talking about a few events. Mayweather only fights once a year. The other boxing events don't make as much money. The UFC is scheduled to put on 32 events in 2012.
Every Boxing Show on HBO or Showtime has a total purse of atleast 1.5 Million Dollar. Even the last shitty show in Washington DC (Khan vs Peterson) had a total purse of 1.8 Million Dollar. UFC has to make a PPV out of every event to pay the fighters, Boxing has only 3 to4 big PPV events and the other shows are on regular free tv.

Bones Jones has been tested. The thing is that he's so good that he makes his opponents look like beginners. Anybody you put in front of him he destroys easily. People were saying Bones will be tested when he fights Slowgun. But after Bones destroyed Slowgun with ease people are saying Bones still needs to be tested.

And in Boxing it is similar, the good and talented Boxers have a contract with Golden Boy Promotions or Top Rank or Lou diBella and these fghters fight on HBO or Showtime most of the time and make at least 50k Dollar....at least!
Those Boxers on FNF are Journeyman, shot to shit former stars or free agents.
A skilled Boxer makes waaaaay more money than a skilled MMA Fighter!

which is the whole problem with boxing, you have guys who make NOTHING and a list of about 25 top guys who make ALL the money.
UFC is more balanced. Top guys make millions, but the guy on bottom still makes a nice paycheck.

And everybody out of the UFC cant even make a living out of fighting. Boxing is not very different but my point is that a talented Boxer makes waaaaaaaaaay more money than a MMA Fighter with the same level of Talent.

Anderson Silva (who is a GOD) almost got unraveled by Sonnen (even though he used steroids, we see Silva could have a problem with powerful wrestlers). I agree with u as i said, he'd have knocked TKO'd him but, can u list the 'So-Called' top fighters that he has faced?! I watch EVERY UFC and haven't seen him fight any top fighters.... and all though rich franklin ain't prominent any more, he WAS a top fighter at the time! Can u honestly name me one fighter he has faced who's better than Rua?! Fact is, he hasn't faced ANY body better... so if that's the best and he beat him easy, then the rest WERE NOT top fighters! He hasn't been tested!

This guy is a phenomenal fighter... although he aint been tested as far as heart goes ie hasn't really taken any blows or lost a fight (Hammer Hamil dont count), we cant see his resolve, but when it does get tested, and if he has got it against 'tough' opposition and does what he did with Rua, then this guy is as close to Olympian god status as u can get! Spider Silva, GSP & Bones Jones.

Bones Jones has been tested. The thing is that he's so good that he makes his opponents look like beginners. Anybody you put in front of him he destroys easily. People were saying Bones will be tested when he fights Slowgun. But after Bones destroyed Slowgun with ease people are saying Bones still needs to be tested.

Bones does fight good fighters, it's just that he makes them look average. Slowgun is not in Bones' league. Bones taking the belt from Slowgun is equivalent to Anderson Silva taking the belt from Rich Something (I can't remember Rich's last name. He's a nobody now.). They are in a higher class.

Anderson Silva has done things in the UFC that no other fighter has done. Anderson Silva's knockout of Forrest Griffin was classic. And Anderson Silva's knockout of Vitor Belfort with an upkick was incredible.
George "Can't Finish" St. Pierre does nothing but find new ways to lay on opponents. This is why he lost in the UFC but Anderson Silva never lost in the UFC.

Welterweight is a deep weight class. Middleweight is the weakest weight class. GSP beats guys who are on massive streaks and truly deserve the shot.
Demian Maia was knocked out in 2 seconds by Marquardt, won a decision over perennial midcarder Dan Miller, and he got a title shot against Anderson. And Anderson went 5 rounds with him.

When the competition isn't as good, it's easier to finish. When you're fighting such blatantly flawed 1 dimensional midcard fighters like Travis Lutter, Patrick Cote, Demian Maia, Nate Marquardt. etc., then it's pretty fucking easy to look impressive.
When you're fighting Jon Fitch, Jake Shields, Thiago Alves, true killers who have wiped out their division. That's when it's rough to finish.
