Meh.... I'd say if you are going to get that lens you should just save money and get the cheap 55-200vr. Both have the same IQ but all you are getting for a lot more money with the 55-300 is better build quality and slightly more zoom...

I have the 55-200 but I'd rather save up more for the 70-200vr.

VR is so not worth the extra money unless you shoot 1/40 shutter all the time, anything over you don't need vr2
