when boss dumb drum came up on the screen i was scared shitless cus im watching this in the dark!! O.o i was always afraid of him when i was a kid btw.
that was the best days in my whole life ... when i was kid , after the school , i throw my Bagpack on the floor , and when me and my family played these Games ... the best Game generation for me !!!
I miss so much these times !!! sometimes this make my cry seriously ; ¬ ( !
The GBA's sound hardware was supposedly inferior in performance to the SNES's sound hardware. This is also true with other GBA ports of SNES games, including the Mario Kart series.
Unfortunately, I doubt that Rare (or anyone, except for maybe Nintendo themselves) was even aware of the DS's existence, so like any videogame designer, they had to work with what they had available.
I wonder how aweosme the DS would be if they wouldn't have made it so gimmicky, with today's technology, it probably would've played N64 games perfectly (maybe even GC games) if they would've left the touch screen out.
The wii was kind of gimmicky too...
It's a shame, nintendo used to be great for serious gamers, now all they want to do is attract people who DON'T play games...
sorry, this GBA-SNES thing got me thinking about stuff like that
The diversity and clarity of the music in the GBA versions are better than the SNES's version's (despite the GBA's inferior sound processing capabilities when compared the SNES's), though I did notice that it also strayed from the more jungle-like feeling that the SNES version's music had. Still, each version appeals to different people's tastes. (To be continued...)
Personally, whenever I compare this version of Fear Factory (along with most, if not all, of the other themes in Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2) to the SNES version, I seem to be unable to not admire the GBA version more than the SNES version. Though it strays from the jungle-like feeling that the SNES version might've had, it seems to be more appealing to me in terms of fitting more into the mainstream environment (so that it could be more fitting in, say, a non-DKC-themed fangame for example.)

Nintendo should feature this track in the new Donkey Kong game. I'd love to hear how it'd sound on the Wii.

How did they mess up the GBA, giving it worse SFX than the SNES?

Yeah, they had to modify EWJ too. I wish they would've just released it on the DS if they knew quality would be cut

Fear Factory was one of my favorite tracks in the original. But I like David Wise's style better.

While it doesn't conserve the more serious factor of the SNES version, it's still excellent.
