I'm not understanding why he doesn't make a solo acoustic cd with this cover on it... obviously everyone is dying to hear it... at least get a clean version on itunes..lol

I didn't like it. It's not technically 'bad,' I just almost always like original artists better...whether it's a choice between Billy Joel and Aaron Lewis, or between Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble...I tend to prefer originals. Maybe I'm just nostalgic and sentimental ;-)

that was distinctively average, like something on a cruise ship, a bit karaoke, no yellow tick this time, thanks for coming, come back next year, never give up, S.Cowell
This is probably one of the best covers i've ever heard...Aaron lewis' voice is...well awesome, and his mellow rythmic guitar playin', pretty hard to top
Dude, this is the singer for Staind... he has one of the greatest voices ive ever heard. Billy Joel did write the song, but that doesn't mean he automatically sings it better than everybody. Its a very well written song though.
ok hating on aaron stops rite now this man has more talent in one of his fingers than any of you can possibly dream of having why dont you go study up on him before you open your fucking mouths and start talkin shit about him
I'm sorry, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, because if you weren't tripping when you wrote that, you are either deaf, or worse. I'm certain Billy Joel himself would say Aaron's not only got one of the most dynamic voices he's ever heard, but that he sings his song waaaaay better than him. Mind you, this is coming from a woman that loves and has seen Billy umpteen times. Twice in one week somewhat recently, as a matter of fact.
@BornQueen ok, ill admit it was very very good, but i deffinitly wouldnt think billy joel would say he has one of the most "dynamic" voices hes ever heard, and DEFFINITLY not sings it better than him. billy joel is on a completely different level than this guy as well as a lot of other musicians. is he good? yes, im not disagreeing that. but dont compare a legend with this guy.
ya bud your an idiot sorry. Aaron Lewis has the best voice in modern rock, no question. He has power, dynamics, sensativity, and he emotes better than anyone ive EVER seen (Trent Reznor may be the only exception...maybe). Don't even try to bring Aaron down. You don't like this one. Fine. Listen to his hundered other songs and hear the versatility in his amazing voice.
I went to Longmeadow High School back in the late 80s and early 90's...and I never knew the man, during or after. But I will say this: if I had a fantasy, it would be to play in a hard rock/heavy metal band.
I graduated from LHS in june of 06, man! Believe it or not, I jammed in that very auditorium (pretty much the same spot) with my buddy, Gregorich!! Whoever taped this knows how small that auditorium is : \ LHS 4evr. NIce job, Aaron!
The true test of a rock musician is putting them on stage with nothing but an acoustic guitar and letting them belt out their songs. Aaron is, hands down, the best vocalist around today. Unfortunately, Staind doesn't gain the recognition they deserve... trendy emo bullshit is what fills the airwaves today.
Hey, leave Billy alone, Brian. I saw him twice this year. Of course, I've seen Aaron 9 times so far this year, and am going to see him 2-5 more times before the year's over. Hey, although I love Aaron singing this song, am I the only one that thinks it's just plain wrong that a man w/a guitar is singing "Piano Man?!?"
no it's not wrong :-) it just shows the talent that Aaron Lewis possesses being able to play such a great song originally created for piano on a guitar
Transferring a piano concert to guitar yes - an achievement, but a relatively simple pop song? This is not oh-my-god talent, far from it, and this level of output could be repeated by hundreds of thousands of hobbyist guitarists, and he doesn't do anything special with it anyway.
Although I disagree w/your opinion...seriously disagree, I felt the need to delete the next few posts of the person that disagreed w/you, and yourself, due to the vulgarity. I try to never delete any comments, even ones that disturb me, and/or for which I disagree with. However, I felt I could not allow the extremely vulgar verbal abuse that ensued.
i swear staind should play at more vma's and shows like that..there so much better than transvestite emo bands such as panic at the disco and all those "bands"
Billy Joel may the piano man, but Aaron Lewis is the cover man.....cuz god damn are his covers flawless
