Time goes by... where is the chopper era without all that electronic. Now anyone can fly some kind of helicopter. I have learn the hard way with the first Hirobo... without Gyro at first, remember Kaven? (for the old timer), they where basic nitro chopper. I have just recently bought the Walkera Chinook and am having a bit of trouble with it and the setup... for starters, the blades seem very brittle compared to what I was expecting and what I have on other heli's.

My main issue is this... I have set up the helicopter according to the instructions in the manual, however when I try to lift off the nose seems to veer up and the rear of the helicopter veer left. this is despite me trimming the pitch and yaw to the extremes

Yes. Blades are brittle for sure. But if you never crash, they will be just fine.

Well, slight breezes and wall air rotors inside can cause this to drift a bit. But remember left stick to left means nose goes left, not tail, so make sure that is right. Also make sure the swash plates are totally level when trims are level. Otherwise you need to pop off the body and retrim the swashplate to tilt slightly in the opposite direction of the drift. Good luck.

Voltage would double if series. Parallel would give longer flights, but are heavier and the motors would overheat and be ruined. My rule is 5-10. Fly 5 minutes let motors cool for 10. Also it is way less of a problem to just buy a second battery. I have already flown my 4 ounce camera on this, so know it works.

counter rotators nearly fly themselves though. Its to do with teh swash only affecting the bottom set of blades and the flybar at the top affecting the top set so if it starts to pitch or roll the flybar automaticly changes teh pitch on the top set of blades to counteract it. A proper model is a lot harder to fly than a counter rotator.
