The original WTC was amazing, but I think the new complex will be gorgeous too. It would be wrong to build right on the site of the old buildings, but to not rebuild at all would be to let the attackers win...
Quite a sight to behold. I just wish I would have taken my vacation from work in New York back in 2000, so that I could have visited them before they were destroyed in 2001. Or, even take a vacation earlier in 2001, so I could have visited them before. Oh well, at least they'll always live on through pictures and videos.

This video really is beautiful and as a guy I will admit I cried so hard 10 years ago tonight, I couldn't sleep and didn't go to work the next day. just how I remember it. I was down there one month before it was destroyed with friends buying Broadway show tickets in the lobby. Here up on the east coast of the USA, My parents grew up with the Empire State Building and these towers were ours and now our children will have the new WTC. Life always goes on but we can never forget ...
All these comments place sympathy for the freakin buildings before the victims. Heck, a concrete monstrosity can be rebuilt. The innocent lives lost that day are gone FOEVER! I don't give a rats ass about the buildings, my heart aches for the victims and there families.

I'm from Ireland, I was only 7 when the towers were hit. As a kid I always wanted to go to New York, it was my childhood fantasy, I always seen the Twin Towers as being a symbol of New York, now I will never get to stand on the very top, it makes me want to cry just looking as this video.

I work across the street from the World Trade Center. I was there on 9/11/01. Every once in a while, I look for pictures of the WTC plaza before the attacks to remind myself what it looked like. I sat in the plaza and ate my lunch there 2 or 3 times a week; in fact, I had my lunch there the day before. Thanks for posting this video.

@TRR2014 FAST richtig, am ground zero selber (wo die beiden türme standen) wird ein memorial gebaut, zwei quadratische wasserbecken, umrahmt von mauern mit den namen der verstorbenen. viele bäume & ein museum sollen auch auf das gelände. das neue world trade center (freedom tower & der andere turm) werden am rand stehen, bisschen nördlich bzw. östlich. komm grade aus new york, angeblich soll das memorial dieses jahr schon fertig werden... ist zZt aber noch ne riesenbaustelle

The first and last time I remember being inside the world trade center was about 3 weeks before 9/11. I was only 5 so I didn't understand. I also live on staten island so whenever I look at the skyline it looks like something is missing. I can't wait until they finish the new wtc. Hopefully, it will fill in that void in manhattan :-(

I spent some time in NYC from August 23rd till September 15th 2001. I remember the first time I saw the towers getting out of the subway, I couldn't lift my head any higher! I was overtaken with awe! The last time I visited Manhattan before leaving NYC, it felt like the city was mutted.. So sad.. I'm not American but I am so sorry about what happened. A always feel a knot in my throught when I see the pictures from my time there..

@TheOboy89 nein, die wird in der Nähe vom Ground Zero gebaut. Am Ground Zero wird das neue One World Trade Center auch Freedom Tower genannt gebaut. Trotzdem fänd ich die Twin Towers besser :(

@TRR2014 FAST richtig, am ground zero selber (wo die beiden türme standen) wird ein memorial gebaut, zwei quadratische wasserbecken, umrahmt von mauern mit den namen der verstorbenen. viele bäume & ein museum sollen auch auf das gelände. das neue world trade center (freedom tower & der andere turm) werden am rand stehen, bisschen nördlich bzw. östlich. komm grade aus new york, angeblich soll das memorial dieses jahr schon fertig werden... ist zZt aber noch ne riesenbaustelle

It is so sad how Cowardice brought down those towers, sure the US have a couple of problems. But why, WHY kill thousands of people? they are human just like you, and yet you have Slaughtered them in a horrific way, you gave them terror like no other.

The first and last time I remember being inside the world trade center was about 3 weeks before 9/11. I was only 5 so I didn't understand. I also live on staten island so whenever I look at the skyline it looks like something is missing. I can't wait until they finish the new wtc. Hopefully, it will fill in that void in manhattan :-(

I spent some time in NYC from August 23rd till September 15th 2001. I remember the first time I saw the towers getting out of the subway, I couldn't lift my head any higher! I was overtaken with awe! The last time I visited Manhattan before leaving NYC, it felt like the city was mutted.. So sad.. I'm not American but I am so sorry about what happened. A always feel a knot in my throught when I see the pictures from my time there..

This video almost put a tear to my eye. I grew up in Brooklyn, and my ma worked near the wtc. I remember during her lunch breaks over summer she would get me and I would play in the plaza near there. I miss that. I don't have anything to go to anymore, it's destroyed. ):
